Black Skull Zombie Cat Painting

$1 Happy Caturday everyone, it's me @thebyron and I love drawing zombie cats. I also like painting them after I've drawn them, but not always. I probably should focus on painting all the drawings I have but there's something special about the untouched raw ink art. $1

History of the Zombie Cats

I really think a true history of the Zombie Cats should be made as a stand alone post one of these days, so with that in mind I'll summarize. I began to paint zombie cats before I ever knew what crypto really was, so back in 2010 might be about right. When I drew up the first few they were just for funsies but later on they became a bit more serious and important to my well being.

$1 I could say a lot about the Zombie Cats, but for today I will just focus on the Zombie Cat known as Black Skull.$1

Black Skull the Zombie Cat

This zombie cat began as a sketch and was created just to pass a bit of time while waiting for something to happen. Then I put it aside for a few weeks. Maybe I lost it or misplaced it due to my lack of organizational skills, but whatever happened, I found it again.

$1 So as you can see, this ink drawing is quite minimal and a bit rushed. That's a good summary for most of my work. Many zombie cats never make it past the ink stage, but today this one did. On a whim I grabbed my watercolours and started to slosh on the paint.

$1 I am very glad that I did paint this Zombie Cat. I really enjoyed letting the paint break down the barriers defined with the ink. Adding the leaves to the tree was most satisfactory and the wood grain on the fence was a pretty good idea too. I had to use the white gel pen to define the those great big chompers that this skull face zombie cat has. Other than that, this is all ink and watercolour. There is a bit of photoshop work to remove a few lines for the finished digital piece. Original art is mixed media on 4"x6" paper. $1

After the Painting

So once it's all said and done ... what happens? In most cases the art goes into storage after being shared on twitX and my discord. This one will still go in storage, most likely, but before that I minted it on the DRiP Haus platform which is on the Solana blockchain. I have a cats collection and I am starting to fill it up with my new zombie cat art. With luck I will have a new Zombie Cat painting each saturday. Check out my DRiP store.

That's about that for this post. Just a quick post to keep myself from sliding back into the habit of NOT posting anything on hive. Using new platforms is a difficult task for me so thank you for your patience. If you have suggestions, comments or if you want to see your cat turned into a Zombie Cat, let me know. Have a great day
