Here in the Philippines, we have a lot of fruits. We have a variety of sour and sweet fruits here that are perfect for desserts and snacks. However, one of the most famous fruits we have in our province is what we call “Atis”, and in English, it is known as “Sugar Apples”.

You can see a small tree in most backyards here, and once it’s the harvesting season, we always enjoy eating it as it’s sweet and juicy. We have this tree at home too, but sadly, it’s not bearing some fruits. So, we always buy them in the local market. Recently, we just bought some since our nephew requested for it.

We bought about eight pieces of the Atis, but you can only see four pieces of them in the pictures. It's because our nephews had already eaten the ripe ones as soon as we bought them. The rest of the Atis were not ripe yet, so we had to wait two days to eat them. What's the sign that they are already good to eat? They will be soft, and some of them will be cracked open.

We ate them altogether and enjoyed the sweetness. Even though it has a lot of seeds, we still enjoyed it. The juiciness also satisfied us, and we will surely repurchase some. Fortunately, we have access to vendors who sell freshly harvested sugar apples in the market.

So, that's it for today. Thank you so much for reading. See you on our next blog. Sending good vibes to everyone!
