My Daily Life Post: "Rooftop Activity, Visiting Vacant Lot and Mushroom Finding"

After a few days of waiting to see how they put those knetted coconut leaves, finally my Father-in-Law was decided to placed those knetted coconut leaves at the waitingshed. They choosed to used coconut leaves as rooftop rather than plainsheets to keep the place cool even if the weather was very hot weather. Aside of that, our ancestors are the one who first used this kind of thing as rooftop. Last following days, they decided to dry the knetted coconut leaves for a few days before using it as rooftop. But before they put up the things, my Husband removed those broken and old knetted coconut leaves so it can easily to replace new one. Straws used to attached those things are very important, it served as a rope and tide those things so it wont fall to the ground.

It takes almost an hour before finishing removing those old rooftops. The next thing they did was to tied the straw first so it wont be hassle to attached in the new rooftop.

The materials used to attached at the knetted coconut leaves are made of bamboo pieces, it can make the structures particularly at the rooftop organized and attractive. Our waitingshed is made of bamboo pieces, the foundations, posts and even long chairs and tables are also made of bamboo. It takes a few days of cutting those bamboos and almost a month of constructing the foundation of the waitingshed. By placing those knetted coconut leaves, it must be organized put in exact positions. Each bamboo pieces must be also attached very perfect using some durable ropes or straws,vines is also good by tying to the rooftop.

I was curios about the positions of the rooftop and I asked my Husband about it. He told me that the reason why this is the right positions and placing those knetted coconut leaves is to show the tip of the roofs. After putting all of it, those tip will cut and trimmed so it will become organized and attractive to see. The life span of this rooftop takes 6 Months and it will lessen by not to expend lots of money buying expensive plainsheets. It takes almost an hour before completing the other side of the rooftop. The process are repeated until the entired rooftop will covered with knetted coconut leaves.

After that, me and my Husband decided to went to Barangay Punta Silum to visit my collected ornamental plants and watered it. It was 10 in the morning when we arrived at the place and lucky for us because we did not spend lots of time waiting for a passenger vehicle. We stopped by in the store to buy some snacks and I noticed this group of children playing and having fun. I also remembered my childhood days about playing but it was a golden days. The streets was quite and only few vehicles passing by even if it was already 10 in the morning.

We also visited our vacant lot were we want to built our storage room for our gardening tools. First, we cut, removed and cleared the areas before putting some nylons indicates that this place is where our storage room will built. This is the first steps before built the structural foundations.

After that I also went near at the garden, and I noticed this attractive vines hanging in the tree. We did not cut those vines because it gives an attractiveness of the place, and I truly imagined that the place is just like a paradise.

Every month of August and September, is Mushroom season. Lots of edible mushrooms can be found in forestry places just like near at the bamboo trees or any places that cannot directly hit from the Sun. As for that, we decided to looked for it and it is quite for us to gathered lots of mushrooms because it was only few grows out. We kept searching for the place were lots of mushrooms grows and we hope we can find lots of it for our meals. Until next post, have a nice day to everyone.
