I am lucky to lived in this place , I can plant different kinds of vegetables, crops and other agricultural plants. Today, as part of my Blog allow me to share my wonderful farm experienced here and this was farm exploration. It was late 4 oclock in the afternoon when me and my Husband were decided to explore the place. The reason why we did was to looked for any coconuts fall to the ground. Last day we harvested coconuts and it will expected to have few coconuts hidden in the Grass. But before that, since it was already afternoon, it was time to give our farm animals with with water. First we tied the rope of our cow in the coconuts and gave a water. Luckily we have deep wheel and manual water pump and concrete water tub, we can stored lots of water for our animals. This is what we always did every afternoon.
The next thing we did was to looked for our Farm goats. We placed it in the areas were lots of grass goats can be eat. This animals likes to eat young grass that is why looking for a place were lots of young grass must be very important. I was very happy to see this baby goats and it will be added as a new member of farm animals here. Every afternoon, we put the goats in the place were they can't be wet and we put young leaves hanging on the wall also.
As we in the middle of farm exploration activities, I also noticed this kind of thing and as I asked my Husband about it, He answered that it is a kind of vegetables. Here in the Province we called it "Kondol". I am not yet tried to eat this kind of vegetables that is why we cut it from the vine and brought it home. I am very amazed of this because it grows in the place were lots of wild grass also grows and the vegetable wont damage even if it is only and the grass.
Our Farm have lots of guava fruits and it is very popular here. We don't cut those plants because it contains medicinal values. The dry guava branches is good for firewood uses. Every weekened, there are lots of children went here in our place just to get ripe guava fruits.
Last day, My Father-in-Law and My Husband also did charcoal out of big dry tree branches. They sell to the market and it will be added as a family source of income. This big chunks of charcoals will be put in an empty sack and each sack cost 175 Pesos. We welded the big and rusty drum so it can use again, buying a new oven made of drums cost up to 3,000 Pesos each so its better to recycled while still can be use.
We also checked our stingless bees, My Husband learned how to cultured stingless bees and as for that, He made this wooden boxes were lots of bees inside. The honey from this bees will collected and sell to the market in an expensive prizes.
We experienced heavy rain last day and we only used dry firewoods that is why we decided to gathered lots of it. Storing lots of firewoods is very important so we have lots of firewoods we can used when rainy season came. Having lots of dry coconut palms is expected because of the harvesting activities we did last day. It takes almost 2 hours of gathering lots of firewoods.
As we arrived back home, Me and my Husband also helped my Father-In-Law cleaning and removing trash under the house. It is important to have a clean surroundings so no harmful wild animals can't come closer. My Husband cut those dry coconut palms while His Father was busy cleaning the place. It was enjoyable experience I had today. Until next post, have a nice day to everyone.
