Introducing the New Hive.io

Over the last two weeks, I’ve given our beloved hive.io website a full facelift — visually and technically. A lot of work has gone into it, and I’m excited to share that the new version is officially live.

Why now?

Can you imagine that it has already been five years since I developed the initial version? It definitely needed an upgrade. I also wanted it ready for TOKENIZE:LDN, happening in London tomorrow, December 2–3, 2025. Hive has a huge booth there, we're basically sponsoring the networking area, and if we’re going to present Hive to a wider audience, then hive.io — our main entry point — needs to represent us well.

So… what exactly changed?

Quite a lot. And since visuals usually say more than a long explanation, here are two videos that highlight the transformation.

A More Detailed Look

Technically, the site has been completely modernized. I replaced the old Nuxt 2 setup with Next.js 16, giving hive.io a more secure, stable, and future-proof foundation.

The biggest visible upgrade is the landing page. My goal was to make it more informative, more dynamic, and more modern - for the site to actually reflect what Hive is all about. Nearly all displayed data — blockchain activity, transactions, market cap, TVL, accounts, and more — is updated live and based on real data.

I also wanted to put a stronger spotlight on our community. After going through countless posts from HiveFests and other events, it became clear that our community is one of our biggest advantages, and it deserves to be front and center on the website.

The signup flow has also been overhauled and moved into hive.io/join. It now supports account creation via Hivedex, Inleo, Ecency, Actifit & others — plus self-created accounts and P2P signup links. Much cleaner and more accessible.

I’ve also added a small section at the bottom of the page that highlights comments from Hivers who replied to my recent post: What is Hive to you?

Special Thanks

A massive thank you to the community for all the feedback throughout this process. Special shoutouts — in no particular order — to @crimsonclad, @mahdiyari, @asgarth, @louis88, @engrave, @guiltyparties, @howo, and many others who shared their thoughts. Your input was incredibly helpful.
And an additional honorary shoutout to @guiltyparties, who took on the task of keeping the website updated with smaller tweaks over the years. Kudos!

What’s Next?

While I took the initiative on this redesign, there’s still a lot to do. The website is a public good — which means it grows and improves through community contributions. If you spot anything that should be added or improved, whether it’s images, wording, missing details, or entirely new ideas, don’t hesitate to reach out and collaborate. You can get in touch with me/us on Discord or Mattermost (contact @guiltyparties for access).

With all this said, I genuinely hope you enjoy the updated hive.io and that it helps showcase the amazing community and technology we have here on Hive.

Hive on! Wolf
