At the pace we are going, global problems are fast increasing, even more than the basic problems we used to know back then. These days, the economy is crashing very badly, and it's affecting almost everything in the world. Even the countries that used to be giants in the economic sector are facing it, but this is not what I want to emphasize.
I want to talk about the global problems in our health sector, and they’ve been alarming.
Way back in 2019 and 2020, the coronavirus shook the world, and that was my first time witnessing a very alarming infection that put the world in a corner. At that moment, one of the most feared health cases, HIV/AIDS, was seen as a mere issue, and COVID-19 appeared to be the controller of the world’s health sector. That period was so scary because deaths were recorded daily, and the fear was very intense. But we thank God that it only lasted for about two years before it went into extinction.
Even when COVID-19 went away, we became very sure that another disease or infection would break out again in the future, and we can only hope that we survive the moment when it comes. This is the stage of the world right now , different problems, even more sophisticated ones, are being brought into the system, and sometimes it all boils down to how everything has changed in the world compared to how our forefathers lived in those days. I wasn't born in those times, but I'm sure that they didn’t experience the kind of global problems we are facing now.
Still, in the health sector, the one that scares me the most is the thought of waking up one day to face a zombie-like outbreak in the world, just as we see in movies. When COVID-19 was trending, a lot of jokes circulated, and people wished it were a zombie-kind of infection. But if it had been such, I bet you, we wouldn't have survived it. We can only keep hoping that we don't get to face this kind of problem one day.
If I had the chance to put a stop to global problems, I would choose to stop the continuous occurrence of dangerous diseases and infections such as HIV/AIDS and other deadly illnesses, including the ones yet to come. I want the world to be free of deadly health issues. We all saw how a disease outbreak paused the world forcefully. People were not able to go about their daily hustles and survival routines. Health is wealth, and it's the most important thing to put into consideration before any other thing.
