Getting motivation in a moment when one is down can be tasking and difficult as well, but it's what we are required to do to keep going. The following are ways I get motivated when I need motivation.
I stay grateful: Most of the time, we seek motivation when we are down or about to pursue a goal. One of the ways I see myself pick up again is by cultivating the habit of gratitude. I look back and count my blessings, count set goals that I have smashed, and most importantly, thank God that I'm alive because it is the one who is alive that goes about seeking motivation. There are just a lot of things that will elevate our mood when it comes to being grateful, which in turn helps our dull mood or discouraged state to get up and keep going or keep pushing toward a goal. Being grateful tells me that I have hope to achieve the set goal or I have hope for a better future because he who is alive is hopeful. Also, as a part of this, I celebrate the little wins in between. Those moments keep me motivated to carry on.
Breaking down of set goals: Under normal circumstances, goals are to be set in a clear manner—well-defined goals, smart goals, achievable goals. In a situation where I'm finding it hard to pick myself up due to the difficulty of the goals, I usually break them down into smaller forms, and from there I begin to tackle them little by little. By this, I feel very motivated because when I see the cleared goals, even in small portions, I stay motivated to carry on.
I take a rest: When I'm worn out both physically and emotionally, I don't fight it because most times, all that the body system needs to gain energy for the task ahead is just rest, either by mere relaxation or by sleeping. I do this a lot, and it helps me to keep fit to carry on.
Thanks!
