Sleeping in a little during the weekends
My boyfriend prefers to sleep in during the weekends because he has to get up during the week to work and bring our daughter to school. He took that task upon him ever since I had issues with the steep part walking up to school. The issues vanished at some point during my pregnancy but he said it's better for him to have these two walks to and from school so he won't only be glued to his office chair at home all week. I only have to do it when he's stuck in a meeting, which is nice, lol.
Right now I'm at the point where some days I will have a kicking baby and troubles with sitting even, let alone being active. Yet I use the indoor bicycle every day for a little bit at least to make sure I remain active. I'm looking forward to the pool opening in a few weeks, swimming every day!
Anyway, I don't prefer sleeping in at all during the weekends, even though I get up the same time as my boyfriend during the week, I always feel gutted for wasting my morning as it's the best time of the day, while there's still fresh air blowing through the apartment, which will soon belong to the past for a month or three, if we're unlucky. I often plan things during the weekends and even though I want to visit flea markets as early as possible, my boyfriend tries to comprimise by sleeping in until 10 and then leaving around 11.
Overruled!
I agreed with him until the heat appeared last week, today is the final day of "just" 28 degrees Celcius while tomorrow the above 30's will kick off and probably be the norm for the rest of the summer. Those days where there's a fresh breeze blowing through the house part of the day will belong to the past and I fully expect to be more exhausted throughout the final months of my pregnancy and maybe even blow up from holding fluids really soon as well. I hope I'm wrong though!
This weekend we don't have one but two days with flea markets, of which one I really love and so far every time we went, we found a nice deal of something we needed, which can come in handy now that we still need some baby items! The other day is the monthly one which we mainly visit because of the sausage breakfast (yes, for real) as we haven't found anything there in a year, which is a shame.
Where normally I agree to go a little later than at the start of these markets, this weekend he's out of luck, I'm overruling his decision by my pregnancy rights because of the extreme heat that will affect me more during the afternoon than in the morning.
He's on my team
Don't worry that I'm being a bitch to him about this, it's a little joke (but seriously meant lol) that we have between us when he says A and I say B, that I end the convo with "But I'm pregnant, overruled!" and then he say, fair enough, ok you win. I love this guy so much!
On the road on a Sunday morning
A few weeks ago, we were not in the mood to stay in on Sunday morning and I believe my boyfriend wanted to check out the kitesurfers on the kite beach because his kite was repaired that week. So we drove to the next town and decided we'd just drive around until we'd see a place where we'd want to have breakfast.
We ended up driving along the coast and I remembered one place where we had tapas one evening so I proposed to park where we were at that moment of realisation because I was quite sure it was down there at the beach. I had no clue that this place was so popular because it was filled with hundreds of guests having breakfast.
A free table, lucky us!
Just when we arrived, a table became free and we were served quite quickly after we sat down. Both of us were longing for coffee even though it was really hot already, we had the perfect spot where we weren't in the direct sun but had a good ocean breeze blowing through the part where we were sitting. A coffee would work just fine.
They had a big menu with toast (tostadas as they're called here) and I checked for my daughter if they had churros but they didn't. A toast it was then! With nutella..
I craved the salmon toast I had in the city recently, although never had any that good over here, I noticed I could order salmon with butter seperately so I did and hoped for the best. The salmon was a bit dry (not the tender parts, sadly) but it was ok.
My boyfriend had his usual toast with tomato spread, tuna and avocado on top.
Enjoying the ocean breeze
It was a hot weekend, even though it cooled off for a bit after that day, it was extremely nice to be out and about that morning to sit somewhere at the beach, feeling the ocean breeze while enjoying breakfast and a coffee. Although I still prefer my coffee at home, it's the moment of being out and about with the family and enjoying the Spanish lifestyle that makes it all worth it.
When they add these bananas on the side, you have a bit of fruit in your system as well, and they were already ripe, which is nice because often we receive unripe fruit added next to our toast, which makes no sense to me.
Tanned
I gained a little tan during the time we sat there and when we drove back, we drove across the kite beach as my boyfriend wanted to see if it was a good day to blow up his kite to check if it was really made properly. While standing there in the car, with the window open, just for 15 mins, I swear I burned my arm already. I was happy to be back home and get some stuff done over there.
Beach
They both wanted to go to the beach, my boyfriend because of his kite and my daughter because of playing in the sand and a bit of refreshing water. I was too scared to get burned a lot and didn't like how rough the waves still were so I let them enjoy some father and daughter time while staying at home.
Last Sunday I saw the water was calm and wanted to go but then I got so tired in the afternoon that I fell asleep until 6 pm and we ended up staying inside. Maybe we will try again this weekend but if so, not for long, after all 32 degrees is a lot!
After writing this post, it's time for my afternoon coffee, I was craving for that one for a while, so I'm going to end this post here and wish you a great day!
