It has been almost 6 months since I have posted anything on Hive, which I do apologise for not posting more consistency of late. However, not to sound ungrateful but I am indeed happy for that time away.
Firstly, the time allowed me to stop, take a step back from my continuous travels and take a breathe. My life seems hectic to some, as I am typically only in one location/city for a week or two at a time. In reality, my year is booked in advance to almost the day with my contract dates, locations, and flights booked months ahead of time. I am not going to lie, it is indeed a lot of fun but I must admit that I have enjoyed sitting still in one place.
Secondly, this allowed for the opportunity to glance at photos from previous expeditions with the luxury of time and more importantly with a sense of nostalgia. Hence, this photo today, which brought back fun memories of exploring south of the Antarctic Circle at a landing site known as Red Rock. Well, the day for one was perfect and the team I was working with at that time were all amazing humans. Looking back it was by all means an awesome day, which at the time I was happy and grateful to be there. However, part of me now looks back and believes I should have been more aware of just how special that day would mean to me now years later.
