I don't really make sculptures based on existing characters - not counting Monocyte which was built by request of its creators - so this came as a bit of a surprise to me as well.
The idea was to make another mask like the 3 previous ones in the 'Alter Ego' series and I thought that after the cat, devil and bunny I should make a bat-mask. When I had the framework of the mask ready though, I liked it so much that I really didn't want to leave it at that. So I made a Batgirl.
She's the old school Batgirl, so that's why she's coloured blue instead of black. Very happy with the result.
Now all she needs is some layers of varnish and she'll be ready for the gallery.
That's sculpture number 9 this year. I don't think I've ever been this productive. Aiming for 10 now. :)
