3 Travel Tips [ #2 Travel Trilogy ]

My #hive people, as part of the Travel Trilogy, today I want to share with you some tips that I consider useful for your travels. I use these tips or strategies all the time; of course, they also help me on my travels. Before continuing, I want to clarify that these may not be the tips you were expecting. Don't worry, if you're more dynamic, in the third post I'll share 7 practical ideas to strengthen, improve, and save on your travels. The tips on this page are more important.

1. Be kind

Although it may seem small, cheesy, and insignificant, I give you an English proverb with a deeply felt emotional charge, and I would say that it's astute in all aspects of life. And, therefore, I consider it essential in backpacking philosophy. It goes like this: "All doors open with courtesy." I guarantee it. It happens more than 90% of the time. Of course, you'll always find some idiot; but what can you do? As another saying goes: "stupidity is not a crime." So there's nothing we can do about it. This, although it may seem small, is my first piece of advice.

2. Travel for free

This isn't an unhealthy invitation to the steal-and-be-happy vibe. No. It's a possible reality, or not, depending on many factors, starting with our disposition. It may seem crazy, but who knows? Maybe there's a chance you'll be invited to work on an artistic, sports, or professional project... You: open to negotiations. Hehe.

If you think it's not possible, I'll tell you that this is how I got to know #Volgograd (#Волгоград), one of the must-see Russian cities for me and the largest, most enormous river in all of #europe. I visited him through a work commitment. That's right.

I traveled to Volgograd in the most unexpected way!

It can be difficult, but it's worth it. On that occasion, I woke up at 5 a.m. to work until 3 p.m. While my colleagues were getting ready to rest and waste their time chatting or taking a nap, I asked Yandex Map for bus routes to the places of interest I wanted to visit in Russia's most important monumental city. I was able to do this for a week: a little tired, but happy. Apparently, you can travel for free. Here's a photo of "The Motherland," something I was able to appreciate without paying a cent.

If you love to travel like I do, I invite you to explore areas of your profession that you can exchange for travel, whether you earn money or not. Don't be too ambitious. My dream is to be able to work as a freelancer; to enjoy total freedom to move around. This still seems like a utopia to me; But I still keep it tucked away in my trunk of most cherished dreams, with the intention of fulfilling it. I hope things go better for you. Also, let's be a little cheeky this time. Traveling for free doesn't just add one more trip. It also gives us a sense of gratifying victory.

3. Don't Be Ambitious

While it sounds like a lesson from father to son, I dedicate it to you regarding travel. Don't be ambitious in either sense: neither in the search for more places, nor in the scale of the experience. Walk at your own pace. This isn't a cutesy little phrase. It's an imperative reality. Don't be carried away by fraudulent ambition. In the attempt to achieve more, you may miss the true charms of the place you're visiting.

I'll tell you a little anecdote.

One evening at a festive dinner, wow, it was a very succulent banquet. And for me, who loves sweets after dinner so much... There was no way to stop. My friend and doctor, Rafa, told me: Lucio, you don't eat much this late; your brain either digests or sleeps... Hehe. Every time I miss my dinner time, I remember his words. Our brain has two hemispheres that don't process the same things; and each of them, indistinctly, directs the specific actions that correspond to it. Sometimes we overlook a lot of visual, artistic, and communicative information... My advice not to be ambitious is based on this thought. It's better to enjoy something small to the fullest than to cross off a lot of places and not have truly visited them. I remember a lesson from Free Flight. When paragliding, it's better to do it with a glider that you think is reliable (according to the pilot's skills) than with a super-spectacular one that you're not confident with because it doesn't meet the parameters. The same thing happens with travel. Mark your Travel Agenda without too many ambitions. In short, the maxim this time could be: Enjoying more and taking on less can translate into greater empirical gains. Take advantage of them!

3 Consejos viajeros [ #2 Trilogía Viajera ]

Mi gente #hive, como parte de la Trilogía Viajera, hoy quiero dejarles algunos Consejos, que considero útiles para sus andanzas por ahí. Estos Tips o Estrategias las uso todo el tiempo; por supuesto que también me ayudan en mis viajes. Aclaro antes de continuar, que tal vez no sean los consejos que esperabas. No te preocupes, si eres de quienes son más dinámicos, en el tercer post traeré 7 Ideas Prácticas para fortalecer, mejorar y ahorrar en tus viajes. Los consejos en esta página son más importantes.

1. Sé amable

Aunque parezca pequeño, cursi e insignificante te regalo un proverbio inglés de una muy apreciada carga emotiva y diría que sagaz en todos los aspectos de la vida. Y, por ende, le considero primordial en la filosofía mochilera. Este versa de la siguiente manera: “todas las puertas abren por cortesía”. Te lo garantizo. Se cumple más del 90 % de las veces. Por supuesto que siempre encontrarás algún o alguna imbécil; pero, ¿qué le vamos a hacer? Como dice otra frase de la sabiduría popular: “la estupidez no es un crimen”. Por lo que no podemos hacer nada al respecto. Este, aunque parezca pequeño, es mi primer consejo.

2. Viaja gratis

Esto no es una invitación malsana a la onda de roba y se feliz. No. Es una posible realidad o no, en dependencia de muchos factores, comenzando por nuestra disposición. Puede que parezca una locura, pero, quien sabe. Tal vez exista la posibilidad de que te inviten a trabajar en un proyecto artístico, deportivo, profesional… Tú: abierto a las negociaciones. Jeje.

Puede ser difícil, pero vale la pena.

En aquella ocasión me despertaba a las 5 de la mañana para trabajar hasta las 3 de la tarde. Cuando mis colegas se disponían a descansar y perder su tiempo en conversaciones o dormir la siesta, yo le preguntaba a Yandex Map por las rutas de autobuses correspondientes a los sitios de interés que deseaba visitar en la Ciudad Monumento más importante de Rusia. Esto pude hacerlo durante una semana: un poco cansado, pero feliz. Por lo visto, sí se puede viajar gratis. Te dejo una foto de “La Madre Patria”, algo de lo que pude apreciar sin pagar un centavo.

Si amas viajar como yo, te invito a explorar zonas de tu profesión que puedas intercambiar por viajes, ganes o no dinero. No seas muy ambicioso. Mi sueño es poder trabajar de Freelancer, autónomo; gozar de libertad total para moverme. Esto se presenta ante mí como una utopía aún; mas no dejo de mantenerlo guardado en mi baúl de los sueños más preciados, con la intención de cumplirlo. Espero que a ti te vaya mejor. Además, seamos un poco pícaros por esta vez. Lo de pasear gratis no solo nos suma un viaje más. También nos regala una sensación de victoria gratificante.

3. No seas ambicioso

Si bien parece una enseñanza de padre a hijo; te la dedico en lo relativo a los viajes. No seas ambicioso en, en ninguno de los dos sentidos: ni en la búsqueda de más lugares, ni en el tamaño de la experiencia. Camina a tu paso. Esto no es una frasesita cursi. Es una realidad imperiosa. No te dejes llevar por una ambición fraudulenta. Puede que en el intento de alcanzar más, te pierdas los verdaderos encantos del sitio que visitas. Te cuento una pequeña anécdota. Una noche de cena festiva, vaya, era un banquete bien suculento. Y a mí, que me gustan tanto los dulces después de cenar… No había manera de detenerse. Mi amigo y médico Rafa me dijo: Lucio, tan tarde no se come mucho; el cerebro o digiere o duerme… Jeje. Cada vez que se me pierde el horario de cenar, recuerdo sus palabras. Nuestro cerebro posee dos hemisferios que no procesan lo mismo; y cada uno de ellos, indistintamente, lidera las acciones específicas que le corresponden. A veces pasamos por alto mucha información visual, artística, comunicativa… Mi consejo de no ser ambicioso se basa en este pensamiento. Es mejor disfrutar al máximo con algo pequeño, que tachar muchos lugares y no haberles visitado de veras. Recuerdo una enseñanza del Vuelo Libre. A la hora de volar Parapente es mejor hacerlo con una vela que para ti sea confiable (acorde a las condiciones del piloto); que en una súper espectacular y con la cual no estés seguro -por no cumplir los parámetros. En los viajes sucede lo mismo. Marca tu Agenda Viajera sin muchas ambiciones. En fin, la máxima en esta ocasión podría ser: Disfrutar más y abarcar menos puede revertirse en mayores ganancias empíricas. ¡Aprovéchalas!
