ETH seems to be on a very similar trajectory to last time
That is, the pattern is almost identical to the 2020-2022 period with one major exception: the long sustained upward momentum of almost 2 years we had the last time, seems to be compressed into only around a year this time. If we assume Q4 is the end date for the cycle then it would even only be around 9 months! I believe this is too short of a time period for the pattern to play out which is why I have been arguing for delayed cycle top for ALTs sometime around Q3 of 2026.
The pattern is playing out once again and with the lines and arrows drawn here it is easy to spot:
But how high could ETH go in this cycle?
The target is already hinted in the first chart: we have a strong resistance from a trend line going all the way back to 2018. If we extend this line we get a target for 2025-2026. Moreover, we can use the fib scale to get a clue. The top and bottom of the previous cycle could be a predictor for the next. This aligns quite well with the tend line which is always a good confirmation!
When we take these two pieces of information together we seem to be getting a target of $12k to $20k. This is somewhat a large range, but it could narrow in the coming months when we see where things are heading.
In other words, we are looking at a potential 2x-5x for ETH in the coming months. Keep in mind that ETH has already rallied quite strongly from the low 1ks in recent months. Overall, not a bad performance at all.
