Building a habit of praying for yourself is very important. Having a personal relationship with God is more powerful than always depending on group prayers or prayer gatherings. I appreciate prayer gatherings, but personal prayer is even more necessary.
Many people live with secret sins, and sometimes we wonder why our prayers are not answered as quickly as we expect. If God were to reveal the true hearts of some people we admire spiritually, we would be more encouraged to focus on our personal prayers. I recently witnessed something that really opened my eyes and made me realize how patient God is with us.
There are so many hidden sins, yet people still lift their hands in worship as if everything is perfect. When they preach or sing, it may feel like heaven is about to open, but only God knows the truth. Truly, God is patient and merciful.
Many believers try to justify their actions by comparing themselves with others, saying things like, “At least I don’t do that,” or “I’m better than them.” But sin is sin, no matter the type or level.
May God forgive us all and help us build a stronger, honest, and personal relationship with Him.
