Finding Peace In Simple Pleasure.

In this busy and noisy world, one of the greatest gifts I give myself is rest. The only way I truly relax after a chaotic day is by sleeping deep, uninterrupted sleeping. I have come to see my bed as my little sanctuary, the place where all the weight of the world melts away. That’s why I take time every morning before I leave the house to make my bed clean and organized. I love knowing that when I come back at the end of the day, it will be waiting for me, fresh and neat, like it’s smiling at me. There is no better feeling than undressing, switching off from the outside world, and diving into my soft, welcoming bed. For me, sleep is not just rest it is healing, peace, and calm wrapped in one. ![Peachy_20250818_165220158.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/toluwanih/2432QHYkH37veuQdG1Wv9k1LsAngbyQECqdSLNpChTq3GBs2wHx2XXg4gBoyVwYBh4TCN.jpg) But rest for me is not only about sleeping; sometimes, it is about enjoying the simple pleasures that make life beautiful. One of those pleasures is watching movies. I don’t just watch anything—I love good movies, especially educational ones that inspire, teach, or make me reflect. The moment I turn on YouTube, I carefully scroll and select the kind of movie that matches my mood. To make it even more enjoyable, I pair it with a bowl of crunchy chinchin and hot puff puff that I made myself. There’s something about the combination of a good story on the screen and the sweetness of my homemade snack that makes me feel completely at peace. It’s my little ritual of joy, and it never fails to calm my mind. ![1756388491439.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/toluwanih/23zSDvTpePxhN6cgyee2Tz5vaG6bqNDic7fFgcqAcv7wFTyqBG21bSdcLjEcZ2Rsj5Nhp.jpg) ![1756388982181.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/toluwanih/23wX5ZJpJVPWdmhD5dPQXn9NUb6xWzfYYVRkJ8D1yzz8aLcwbANvLe9PgaR3zMXRLxKe2.jpg) Another way I slow down is by reading. I may not do it every day, but when I do, I like to choose books that speak about growth, purpose, and self-discovery. There’s something powerful about losing myself in the pages of a good book and finding lessons that stay with me long after I’ve finished reading. Books remind me that growth is a journey, not a race, and that wisdom often comes from the quiet moments we spend reflecting and learning. ![1756389225039.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/toluwanih/23y8zJjFPaMkhQpX7ukv1U443ZFKWm4Qo8aGGQqVY1n252AU9XpHwRqWmnaiXF8JHKXzJ.jpg) To me, slow living doesn’t always mean silence or stillness. It simply means choosing what nourishes me instead of what drains me. I don’t need loud restaurants, busy malls, or expensive trips to feel alive. My peace is in the simple, everyday moments—sleeping deeply, watching a thoughtful movie with a crunchy snack in hand, or reading a book that feeds my soul. These little routines may seem ordinary, but they are what make my days beautiful and worth enjoying. They are my way of creating calm in a chaotic world, of reminding myself that peace doesn’t always come from doing more, but from appreciating what I already have. I enjoy my clean bed, my movies, my chinchin, or my books. Because in these small, mindful choices, I find the calm I need to carry on. Pictures is mine.
