During my school days, I met many people, but two friends became very special to me Kenny and Oluwaseun. Our friendship started in different ways, but both of them made my school experience enjoyable and meaningful.
[lovely memory, three of us in one picture]
I met Oluwaseun in class during my National Diploma (ND) days. We used to receive lectures in a big hall that was divided by pillars. I always sat near the first pillar, and coincidentally, that was also where Oluwaseun sat. For a while, we only saw each other without talking. One day, we started a casual conversation, and that was how our friendship began. After that day, we became very close. I started going to her house, and she also came to mine.
Oluwaseun is a lovely and kind person. She is from Ondo State, and anytime we resumed school after the holidays, she would bring bananas and plantains from home and share them with us. She is also a very thoughtful friend. Whenever I faced challenges, she would listen and give me deep advice about life. I always admired how she could talk calmly about things and make me see reasons not to give up. Even after we finished our Higher National Diploma (HND), we still kept in touch. When we talk on the phone now, we still discuss life, goals, and everything happening around us. She is truly a friend I am happy to have met in school.
My second close friend, Kenny, came into my life differently. During my ND days, she was my neighbor. We used to greet each other and chat once in a while. But during our HND, we became housemates, and our friendship grew stronger from there. Kenny is one of the most caring people I have ever met. She always looks out for me and makes sure I am okay. I can never forget when I didn’t have money to buy a back to school wear. Kenny noticed and surprised me with one. She was also the only person who brought me a birthday gift while in school. Those little things meant a lot to me because they showed how thoughtful she is.

Kenny is also the type of person who will defend you anywhere. She doesn’t like seeing her friends treated badly. If someone says something wrong about you, Kenny will be the first to speak up and clear the air. Living together with her made me see that true friendship is not about having fun all the time, but about being there for each other through everything.
Thinking back now, I am really grateful that I met Kenny and Oluwaseun. My time in school would not have been the same without them. They both made the experience easier, happier, and more interesting. Meeting them wasn’t dramatic at all it just happened naturally. I believe that is what makes our friendship real. We met, connected, and have remained close even after leaving school.
Having friends like Kenny and Oluwaseun reminds me that good people still exist. They showed me what true friendship means love, care, and understanding.
