I believe almost everyone has experienced writer block at one point or another. And if you have never gone through it, then maybe you are some kind of creative guru.😂
Recently, I have learned something very important: writer’s block becomes easier to overcome if you are a lover of books. When you make reading a part of your daily life—whether novels, inspirational books, or books on growth ideas flow more naturally, and it is almost impossible to remain stuck for long. I have added this to my routine. I downloaded a lot of books that I read during my leisure time, and it has been a great way to overcome creative blocks. Reading keeps my mind sharp and always provides me with fresh ideas to build on.
In fact, I have noticed that people who read a lot hardly remain stuck creatively. That is why I also spend time on Hive reading other people’s posts. Sometimes, when I don’t know what to write about, I open Hive, read through what others have shared, and before I know it, new ideas start forming. Their words spark something in me, and I suddenly find myself eager to write again. So whenever I feel blocked, my first solution is to either pick up a book or scroll through posts on Hive, and it works almost every time.
Of course, there are other things that also help me. Taking short breaks, listening to music, or changing my environment can bring back inspiration. But I have come to realize that reading is the strongest tool for me. It doesn’t just help me overcome blocks it also helps me grow as a person and as a writer.
Creative blocks are part of every creator’s journey, but they don’t have to last forever. With the habit of reading, a willingness to learn from others, and little lifestyle adjustments, we can always find our way back to creativity.
