There are times in life when I just feel weak and tired inside. Motivation doesn’t always come easy, and honestly, there are moments I just want to give up on everything. At those times, I have learned to look for small ways to encourage myself because waiting for someone else to push me may not always happen.
The first thing I often do is cry. Crying may not solve the problem, but it helps me release the weight I’m carrying inside. When I finish crying, I usually grab a pen and paper and start writing. I write down exactly what I’m feeling why I am sad, what is making me cry, and what I think is wrong at that moment.
While writing, I ask myself questions like: “Why am I crying?” and “What can I do about it?” Then I write out the answers that come to my mind that time in my book. Sometimes the solutions are simple things like resting, changing my attitude, or talking to someone. Other times, they are bigger steps I need to take. But just seeing the problem and the possible solutions written down makes me feel lighter. It gives me hope that I can actually do something about the situation.
Another thing that helps me is listening to godly messages. When I hear words of encouragement, especially those based on faith, they give me strength. They remind me that life will not always be this way, that I can still stand up and move forward. Sometimes I also pick up a book to read. Even if it’s just a chapter, the right words in a book can inspire me to keep going and I jot down necessary or motivated word from there.
Music also plays a big part in motivating me. I don’t just listen to any kind of music when I’m down I choose songs that uplift my spirit. Inspirational and edifying songs have a way of changing my mood. They speak life into me and remind me of better days ahead. Sometimes, as the music plays, I sing along and before I know it, I feel lighter and more motivated.
These are not big or complicated things, but they help me. Crying, writing my feelings and solutions, listening to messages, reading, and music these are the steps that get me back on my feet. I may not always bounce back quickly, but with these little habits, I slowly regain my strength.
I believe everyone has their own way of finding motivation. Some people talk to friends, some go for walks, some pray, and some distract themselves with hobbies. For me, I choose to face my emotions honestly, then feed my mind and spirit with things that lift me up.
Whenever I do these things, I don’t just feel better I feel more prepared to face life again. It’s like pressing a reset button in my heart. Motivation doesn’t always fall from the sky; sometimes, we have to create it for ourselves in simple ways.
