Although we are supposedly no longer in the slavery era, but modern slavery still exists in various forms. When I saw this prompt, human trafficking is one of the first things that comes to mind. Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery where young adults are deceived with promises of a better life, only to be forced into jobs they don't want, prostitution against their will, or even forced to sell their organs against their wish.

I remember a senator taking one young boy abroad and promising his family a better life, not knowing that he took him there to remove his kidney for his sick son. Thankfully, the boy met a doctor who understood his language and told him what he was about to do because the boy was not even aware, and the boy told the doctor that was not what the senator told his family. It was all over the news at that time. The senator was punished for it that time.
Forcing young girls into marriage is another form of modern slavery. Imagine a young girl who wants to go to school, and a rich man promises to give her family a good life and send her to school if the family releases their girl child for him to marry. A girl in her teens being forced into marriage is very bad and a modern-day slavery.

Another form of modern slavery I remember is debt bondage. I once worked in a company where I met a guy who was very hardworking. He worked in every department, offloading goods, selling goods, and doing every kind of job in that company. I had to ask one day who he was and what was wrong with him, and someone who had been in that company for a long time and knew his story told me he was paying off a debt. He had been there for close to three years, working without salary, doing all kinds of jobs for that company without getting paid.
I don't know the story very well, but from what I heard, he was once a paying worker in that company, and some customers brought goods on credit which they refused to pay for, and he had been forced to pay off the debt. But the company had likely gotten their money back and yet to release him. I left him in that company, and only God knows what has become of him now.

Another common form of modern slavery is using small girls as maids in private homes and restaurants and forcing them to do hard work beyond their age. This is another form of modern slavery.
Although there are laws against these things in different companies, the government has not been able to completely eradicate it. I think strong measures should be put in place to combat this. Awareness should be raised against it, and every individual should support efforts to combat modern slavery and report any cases to the right authorities if we see them around us.
