The School Memory That Still Makes Me Smile

One of the most unforgettable parts of my school life was fellowship. Honestly, I loved every bit of it, and sometimes I still wish I could go back to school just to experience those moments again. The truth is, once you graduate, it’s never the same. !\[1758634607635.jpg\](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/toluwanih/242hWRuerGMh73F9ZoYWjUsGq5KieZExek9pDKRpe2mfRKyFa4YNyDWBVWrAsyZE8E1tG.jpg) Fellowship for me wasn’t just about going to church on campus, it was like a family. I can still picture us during Bible study, sitting close together, Bibles open, sometimes serious, sometimes laughing at someone’s funny contribution. It wasn’t just the study it was the love. If someone didn’t have food, another person would share. If someone was down, you would see people gather around to comfort them. Those little acts of care were everything. The part I enjoyed most was singing and dancing. We would lift our voices so loud, clapping, shouting, and dancing like we had no worries in the world. It wasn’t performance, it was real joy. Sometimes I’d go to fellowship with a heavy heart, but by the time we finished singing and praying, I’d be smiling again. That kind of atmosphere was priceless. That moment of genuine hugged. !\[1758634511738.jpg\](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/toluwanih/23xySdHEebWnYQLFY6w5bNo7ukHh3B8HsKRA8WtpMuhKAhFmp9fvAaiWWNSs11MTHYdPE.jpg) Then there were those “catch them young” moments. Each fellowship would wear our vests proudly and go around looking for new students. We’d help them with their loads, help them get hotels because our school doesn't have a school hotel, show them their hostels, and then invite them to fellowship. It was sweet, honestly. I always felt proud wearing my vest, walking confidently, meeting new people, and knowing I was part of something bigger. And who can forget our love feasts? We called it “get together,” but it was really about sharing. Everybody would bring something rice, snacks, drinks and we’d all sit down together like one big family. We would eat, gist, laugh until our stomachs hurt, and sometimes dance a little. Those nights were so special to me. Apart from the classroom, fellowship was the second home where you would always find me. !\[1758634343222.jpg\](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/toluwanih/23vi8TP64hoN6PwPZBQ9kmMtBCXZi9ts7FvVozsGkkjuMJZBkQMfuDVX7xrTZF9i3uqRh.jpg) But not all my funny memories were from fellowship. One that still makes me laugh till today happened when I was in 100 level. My department had someone contesting for SUG post, and as freshers, we were so excited to join the campaign. We followed the candidate everywhere on campus, shouting, clapping, and singing campaign songs. Thinking back now, it was so funny because we didn’t even have strength like that we were just running around with pure excitement. I remember how hungry and thirsty we were that day, but still, we kept moving. We sang some of the funniest songs against the opponents, and even though our voices got hoarse, we didn’t stop. We were only 100 level students, so we didn’t even fully understand the whole politics, but we followed with our full chest. The way we walked around looking tired yet still clapping and singing makes me laugh anytime I remember. The best part? The person we supported actually won! That joy was something else. We screamed, hugged each other, and danced like we were the ones who won the post. Anytime I remember it now, I just shake my head and smile. Looking back, those are the moments that really made my school days special. Not just the lectures or exams, but the laughter, the singing, the sharing of food, the love feasts, and even the campaign. Those were the things that made school feel like home. Now that I’ve graduated, I know I can never have that exact experience again, but the memories remain. And each time I think about them, I can’t help but smile, grateful that I got to live through such sweet, unforgettable times. It's truly Unforgettable and I still keep some of my fellowship pictures dearly, scrolling through my gallery and seeing some of it make me smile. Pictures are mine.
