I took a quiet walk into my heart, not knowing what I’d find. But what met me wasn't warmth just shadows, stretching across everything inside.
I tried to spark a flame,
once,
twice,
a hundred times.
But every light I lit
flickered out too soon.
I called for help,
but the silence
was louder than my voice.
So I kept moving,
with nothing but the dark to guide me.
At first, the silence felt calm. Then it turned sharp. Pain started showing up in places I thought they were empty. Sadness settled into the corners. And fear? It lingered like it had always belonged.
Deeper in, I reached a village barely glowing with dim light. Their king sat high his name was Facade. Beside him, Presence, still and quiet, like she was only half there. Their people wore masks of laughter, but none of it was real. Every smile echoed with sarcasm, and every street was lined with fear and fakeness.
I nearly gave up. After miles of shadow, I was tired. But then far off, a light. It wasn’t loud, but it was real. So I ran.
And the more I ran, the more it slipped away.
Still, I heard voices: Laughter that didn’t hurt. Joy, that felt honest. Hope breathing softly. Truth standing tall. Love whispering, “You belong.” But all of it… kept drifting farther.
Then, a voice inside me spoke clearer than the rest:
"Find yourself. Don’t wait. Reach for the light before it fades… and you forget who you are."
