The Struggle is Real: Life, Challenges, and the Journey to Success

Life is full of ups and downs. The struggle is real, and anyone who wants to make it in life must be ready to face challenges head-on. There's a saying that if you don’t want any result, do nothing. But if you truly desire success, you must be prepared to pay the price through hard work, consistency, and sacrifice. However, even with these qualities, life can still throw unexpected situations at you that may shake your plans and dreams.

I remember when I was an undergraduate, I had to work at three different tutorial centres just to survive and support myself. It was not easy. Many times, I would leave one tutorial and rush to another, tired and hungry, but still determined. That period taught me that life is not fair, and success is not served on a platter of gold. It is only by the grace of God that I pulled through those tough times.

Sometimes, people believe that once you are hardworking and dedicated, success will automatically come. But the truth is, that is not always the case. There are people who put in a lot of effort, yet they don’t see the results they expect. Life is not a straight road. There are bends, potholes, and unexpected detours. You can do everything right and still face delay or disappointment. That’s why we must understand that the journey is different for everyone.

Life’s challenges come in different forms. Some are caused by our own decisions, either by mistakes or laziness. Others are natural, things we can not control. You might fall sick unexpectedly, lose a loved one, or face a financial crisis. These things can shake your faith, disrupt your plans, and even change how you see life entirely. But in all these, we must keep pushing because staying still is not an option.

Another thing we must understand is that what works for one person may not work for another. Success is not copying and pasting. Just because someone followed a particular path and succeeded doesn’t mean you will get the same result if you do the same thing. Life is not always fair in that way. I once heard a story of two friends who visited an herbalist to get rich. They were both given the same concoction to use. One became rich, and the other went mad. It’s not because one did something wrong, but sometimes, life is about timing, luck, and divine favour.

At the end of the day, we must remind ourselves that the struggle is real. We all face battles, some visible, some hidden. But we must do our best to stay afloat, stay hopeful, and never stop trying. Life doesn’t promise ease, but with grace, resilience, and faith, we can overcome. The journey might be hard, but it’s not impossible.
