Hello people. My name is Tom. I'm new here, so I thought I should introduce myself. I'm a film photographer and a freelance video editor.
I bought a one-way ticket to Cyprus a few weeks ago, together with my partner, with a plan to travel and see the world, visit agricultural and digital nomad communities, and get a general sense of what lies ahead for us. It should also be a great opportunity for me to expand my art; To experience my love for film in new exciting ways, like how traveling abroad usually does, but this time on a bigger scale; To document these communities, their day-to-day lives, and maybe help them spread the word.
So, this might be a good time to join you guys.
In regards to my lovely hobby - I’m mostly interested in capturing street, urban, and architecture black and white scenes, where humans usually aren't present, or not as much as the things they've left behind them.
Up until 2022, I shot only digitally. Film seemed to me like a fairytale; Something that belongs to the masters only, the most patient ones, almost like an 8-string guitar; Like a crazy, impossible to handle kind of craft. But after trying it out one time, I suddenly found myself falling in-love. And today, as much as I enjoy other photographer's work, no matter what they use - I myself just can't go back. It filled a gap for me, and I'm very grateful, falling just like that, into its "hands".
Very excited to join this community. Really hoping to meet some new artists and photography enthusiasts, and make some new long-distance friends.
