Gamer and photographer heaven in Bangkok

Hello everyone,

How are you doing? I hope today brings you something better than yesterday. Wishing you good health — both in body and in mind.

And if you're going through a tough time or in the middle of recovery, I’m sending good thoughts your way. May your smile return soon and continue to brighten the days of those around you.

I hope today’s post will catch the interest of both gamers and photography lovers! And who knows — maybe you’ll even consider adding this spot to your itinerary the next time you’re in Bangkok.

Funny thing is, me and my wife didn’t even plan to visit this place. We just stumbled upon it while enjoying a relaxed walk around Chinatown, Bangkok. (And hey — don’t get it twisted, I’m pretty sure there’s a Chinatown in almost every major city around the world! )

So there’s your first clue about where this place is located. The second hint? It’s just a 3-minute walk from Sam Yot MRT station (BL30) on the Blue Line. There might be other stations nearby too, but I’m sharing based on our own experience.

WELCOME TO MEGA PLAZA

(Warning - Photo dump inside around this building)

Basically there was 6 floor at this building . Just at the front of the entrances you ll find this small gunpla or gundam box kits , and you ll totally direct fall in love with this building if you are gunpla nerd like me.

The kits at the entrance were actually unfinished Gunpla models, but once you explore the floors, you'll find tons of kits for sale — ranging from the more affordable ones to high-end, expensive models.

There are even some limited edition items on display, complete with grading, and of course, the prices reflect the quality and rarity. Whether you're a casual builder or a serious collector, there's something here that'll definitely catch your eye.

Alright, let’s start from the ground floor. Down here, they were mostly selling basic toys — mainly for kids (well... and also for big kids like me 😆).

You’ll find small electric cars, bicycles, soft toys, and more. There were also some cosplay items like Spider-Man, Naruto, and a few others.

That said, the display quality wasn’t that impressive — at least from the outside. I didn’t go into any of those shops at the time, so I can’t say much about what’s inside.

There was also some kiosks for food and beverage around the ground floor that you can grab while enjoying your walk around the building.

Kinda sad I didn’t take many photos on the ground floor — I was too busy filming with my action cam at the time. (Video coming soon… well, maybe… not sure when. LOLZ )

Now, from the 1st to the 5th floor (if I remember correctly), things started getting a lot more serious — and a lot more expensive. These floors were packed with collector’s items and high-end toys. Definitely not your average kid’s playthings… unless that kid has a really loaded piggy bank!

The huge hulks was fighting with iron man welcome you at the elivator and its was huge and looks cools.

Lets's go around for windows shopping :

Now, here come some of my favorites! Can you guess which figure (or figura, as some of us like to call it ) caught my eye?

And of course… the blaster section! I used to be super addicted to this stuff back in the day — especially when playing with my cousin.

We had our own little combat zone set up in the jungle, and we went all out modifying our blasters until they looked almost like real guns — 90% realistic and way more powerful than they were supposed to be.

Sadly, the fun didn’t last forever. Eventually, the game got banned in my area, which was such a shame because it was honestly one of the most fun and intense things we used to do.

And it was everywhere here :

Just look at this beauty — after being modded with steel parts, it looks almost like the real deal! 🔥

Oh! I almost forgot to mention — they also sell game DVDs and consoles like PlayStation here. Sorry I didn’t get any photos of that section, but hey, now you know!

If you're a gaming fanatic, that’s one more reason to check this place out.

The 6th floor is a haven for the big boys — hobbyists and photography lovers! You’ll find old-school gear, second-hand lenses, and cameras at pretty affordable prices.

I didn’t take many photos there (got a bit too excited 😅), but hey — video coming soon… or at least, someday!

Yup, I guess that’s all for today! I hope this little journey was helpful and maybe even inspired you to check the place out yourself.

Thanks again for tagging along — really hope you enjoyed it. See you in the next one! Cheers!
