When the Alps start shedding their winter coat, the sight that unfolds before your eyes is simply breathtaking. The snow and ice, which for months have sculpted every contour, begin their slow melt, revealing bare rock and that first bit of grass just waiting to burst forth. And you know what? Taking a stroll up here during this time is an absolutely incredible feeling.

I tried to capture some of that magic in these photos. You'll still see immense stretches of snow cascading down like silent tongues,
but look closely: at their sides, the dark, rocky terrain is already starting to peek through, a clear sign that the great white blanket is retreating.
