Una introducción necesaria
  Nuevamente, mis compañeros y yo nos dirigimos hacia cada una de las sedes del evento, pues, al tener una editorial en nuestro centro, somos miembros profesionales del evento y tenemos acceso a cada una de las sedes y subsedes, en las que se realicen actividades relacionadas con la promoción de la lectura. En la publicación de hoy les mostraré las actividades realizadas en una de las sedes más importantes de la feria del libro: El Pabellón Cuba, ubicado en la céntrica Rampa de La Habana, en la calle 23 del Vedado.  **País invitado de honor** Esta es la edición número 33 de la fiesta de la lectura y, a pesar de los grandes problemas económicos por los que atraviesa el país, se decidió realizar el gran evento por la importancia que se le da a esta actividad. Como cada año, se selecciona un país invitado de honor y, este año, correspondió a la República de Sudáfrica tal invitación.  Como es costumbre, los países a los que está dedicada la feria, traen varios libros de importancia de sus países, presentan libros, dan conferencias, tienen intercambios con niños, adolescentes y jóvenes y nos muestran los rasgos más importantes de su literatura y de la cultura general. Esta no fue la excepción.  **Nos fuimos de feria** Temprano en la mañana llegamos a la sede escogida para intercambiar con otras editoriales, participar en las actividades programadas y comprar algunos libros relacionados con las Ciencias de la Tierra, por ser estos, los textos fundamentales que utilizan nuestros científicos e investigadores.  ***Dentro de las actividades realizadas estuvieron***: · El intercambio con editoriales con las que tenemos fuertes vínculos de trabajo. · El intercambio con editoriales con las que tenemos fuertes vínculos de trabajo, compra de libros relacionados con las aguas subterráneas, la conservación del patrimonio geológico, cuidado del medio ambiente; otros. · Firma de convenios de trabajo con otras editoriales del país. · Recorrido por las diferentes áreas de la institución. · Intercambio de experiencias de nuestra editora con el resto de los editores presentes en el evento.  **Un comentario final** Fue una jornada renovadora, de un aprendizaje constante y un rico intercambio, sobre las diferentes maneras en que tenemos de divulgar el conocimiento que están reflejados en los diferentes libros producidos, editados y publicados por cada una de nuestras editoriales. Fue una jornada diferente, luego del panel dedicado a la vida y a la obra de un investigador nuestro, muy querido por todos nuestros trabajadores y que, recientemente, falleció. Quizás, esta sea una próxima publicación. Después de culminar la sesión de trabajo, nos dirigimos a comer helados en la célebre heladería Coppelia, uno de los lugares emblemáticos de la capital de todos los cubanos. *Nota: Las fotos son de mi propiedad, tiradas con mi teléfono Samsung J2*. *Utilicé el traductor de Google*. ***ENGLISH*** **A necessary introduction** February is the month of love and, in Cuba, it is also the period in which we develop the largest cultural event in the country: The International Book Fair, which begins in Havana and then spreads throughout all the regions of the country, culminating in Santiago de Cuba, the second most important province in the country. Once again, my colleagues and I went to each of the event venues, since, by having a publishing house in our center, we are professional members of the event and have access to each of the venues and sub-venues, where activities related to the promotion of reading are carried out. In today's publication I will show you the activities carried out in one of the most important venues of the book fair: The Cuba Pavilion, located in the central Rampa de La Habana, on 23rd Street in Vedado. **Country guest of honor** This is the 33rd edition of the reading festival and, despite the great economic problems that the country is going through, it was decided to hold the great event due to the importance given to this activity. As every year, a guest of honor country is selected and, this year, the Republic of South Africa received the invitation. As is customary, the countries to which the fair is dedicated bring several important books from their countries, present books, give conferences, have exchanges with children, adolescents and young people and show us the most important features of their literature and general culture. This was no exception. **We went to the fair** Early in the morning we arrived at the chosen headquarters to exchange with other publishers, participate in the scheduled activities and buy some books related to Earth Sciences, as these are the fundamental texts used by our scientists and researchers. ***Among the activities carried out were***: · Exchange with publishers with whom we have strong working ties. · Exchange with publishers with whom we have strong working ties, purchase of books related to groundwater, conservation of geological heritage, care of the environment; others. · Signing of work agreements with other publishers in the country. · Tour of the different areas of the institution. · Exchange of experiences of our editor with the rest of the editors present at the event. **A final comment** It was a renewing day, of constant learning and a rich exchange, about the different ways in which we have to disseminate the knowledge that is reflected in the different books produced, edited and published by each of our publishers. It was a different day, after the panel dedicated to the life and work of one of our researchers, very loved by all our workers and who recently passed away. Perhaps, this will be a future post.
