2030

How quickly the weekend goes by when you're having a good time, don't you think? The truth is that once you reach a certain age, everything goes by very quickly, for better or worse.

This has its advantages when things are going badly, since everything usually ends fairly quickly, but also, sometimes I wish the weekend or vacation wouldn't end...

I've calculated that I have at least 5 more years of intense work left before I voluntarily take early retirement, or at least leave the "highly responsible" job.

By then, I estimate my children will be ready to fly the nest, if that's what they want... well, to tell the truth, my daughter will have already finished her university degree and probably her master's degree, which will put her on the starting line for work, while my youngest son will be in his second or third year of university, if that's what he wants to do.

From then on, and if things don't turn around, I intend to live off my wealth accumulated over so many years, which I'm still solidly building.

I probably won't stop working, but what I will do is not work as an employee, but for myself, and as long as I want.

2030

Sounds pretty good, don't you think?

It seems like a number with enough substance to retire and live life... with luck, and if I take care of myself, I'll have about 30 more years to dedicate to a "contemplative" life.

It's not a bad plan at all. A contemplative, quality life, surrounded by your loved ones and doing whatever you want when you want... if all goes well.

Until then, I'm making the most of my opportunities for rest, weekends, and vacations, just in case everything turns upside down...

Oh, by the way, I'm facing the second-to-last week before taking a full month of vacation... life is wonderful!

Have a good start to the week.
