So her father hid her for many years in a cave, when she grew up she was able to escape from the confinement and went to the river, she looked at herself in the reflection of the water, and the great Anaconda that lived in the river, when they found out that the Anaconda had Maria Lionza kidnapped the Anaconda full of anger exploded causing a terrible flood that buried the whole town, this is why Maria Lioza then became the protector of water and nature.
