Hola querida comunidad de artesanos y maestros y aprendices de las manualidades. En esta ocasión quiero compartir este hermoso perchero que fabricamos desde el Refugio el Manzanillo. Este es un nuevo proyecto que junto a mi amigo Cesar Garzón, @elmanzanillo, esperamos poder sacar adelante y cumplir nuestro principal objetivo de cuidar la naturaleza y disfrutar de ella mientras aprendemos y compartimos un poco de nuestras experiencias y aprendizajes. A continuación les mostrare un poco el proceso de fabricación de este Perchero de Pino.
Hello, dear community of artisans, master craftspeople, and apprentices. Today, I want to share this beautiful coat rack we made at the El Manzanillo Refuge. This is a new project that, together with my friend Cesar Garzón, @elmanzanillo, we hope to bring to fruition and fulfill our main goal of caring for nature and enjoying it while learning and sharing our experiences. Below, I'll show you a little bit about the manufacturing process of this Pine Coat Rack.

Este perchero aprendí hacerlo acá con la comunidad, y pues a decir verdad soy principiante y vamos mejorando cada día. Es hecho en pino su tronco principal, es traído de sectores donde han cortado pino yo observó y miro cual tronco me sirve, comienzo a trabajarlo primero que todo quitándole la corteza y todo sus brazos, con mucha tranquilidad para no dañar el tronco.
I learned to make this coat rack here with the community, and to be honest, I'm a beginner, and we're improving every day. Its main trunk is made of pine, brought from areas where pine has been cut down. I observe and see which trunk works for me. I begin working on it by first removing the bark and all its branches, very carefully so as not to damage the trunk.
Después se lija y se pule las partes que tengan alguna punta, para evitar golpearnos. Debemos observar bien el tronco y utilizar su mejor parte, para que sea vea estético. Se pulen las puntas y se organizan cortando y puliendo algunas. Luego se pinta con inmunizante para madera Por último se diseñan las patas para que le den la estabilidad al perchero. Este paso hay que medir muy bien para que de una buena estabilidad.
Next, any sharp points are sanded and polished to avoid bumping into them. We must carefully examine the trunk and use the best part to achieve a beautiful appearance. The points are polished and arranged by cutting and polishing some of them. Then, it is painted with wood stain. Finally, the legs are designed to provide stability to the coat rack. This step must be carefully measured to ensure proper stability.
Este perchero se vendió por aproximadamente 80 USD, en pesos colombianos son $250.000, una cuarta parte de un salario mínimo mensual aproximadamente. Es de importancia decir que el Pino es una especie invasora, por lo que su tala, no afecta al medio ambiente ni la biodiversidad de la zona. La idea es crear un taller de artesanías de madera (Pino) y vender productos hechos a mano y por campesinos de la zona.
This coat rack sold for approximately $80 USD, which in Colombian pesos is $250,000, approximately a quarter of the minimum monthly wage. It's important to note that the pine tree is an invasive species, so cutting it down doesn't affect the environment or the biodiversity of the area. The idea is to create a workshop for wooden crafts (pine) and sell handmade products made by local farmers.
