I am a little late to this one, but as the wonderful Ladies Of Hive are celebrating their Fifth Anniversary, I wanted to write something, to help celebrate them.
I am all about community. Having spend some of my earlier years as a bit of a loner and determined to make my own way and prove my independence, I have come to understand how important community is. How important it is for our well being and growth. Having a community of people behind you, is so empowering. We are not meant to walk alone in life.
Everyone should have some people around them, that lift them up, that show up and speak up for them. In a world where we are seeing so much division, we need unity. We need to some together, lessen the division. To listen and learn from one another.
I love that all the ladies in this wonderful community, come from all walks of life, from so many different countries. Each of us, with our own stories, our own wisdom, our own skills. All with a willingness to be seen and to share. I love that I get to connect with so many wonderful women. Although, not as much as I would like at the moment, because of my workload, but because I am involved in the weekly challenge ( as a judge) I get to connect more with some of the ladies and get a little glimpse into their lives and read their words of wisdom.
Which is a wonderful reminder of how we all seem to go through similar challenges in life, experiencing so many different emotions and stressors. For me the Ladies Of Hive Community, has brought us ladies together, creating a space where we feel supported and seen. Where our life experiences and opinions are valued, a space where we feel safe to express ourselves, with no judgement.
The reality is, that some of us don't get to experience community in our offline life, so having the Ladies of Hive community here is so important. On top of that, it is weaving a web right around the world, connecting us all, educating us, inspiring us and celebrating us. Because let's be real here, us women deserve to be honoured and celebrated, through all of our rites of passage and just in general. So here's to many more years of us ladies celebrating and growing together. Many more years of lifting one another up.
