Letting Myself, Melt A Little With The Heat.

The heat just keeps on coming, We continue to have muggy hot weather, I continue to feel quite drained by the end of it, but I have kind of got into a flow. A flow of work and home. I seem to always have to remind myself to drink more. Water is what I drink mostly, but I can't seem to get enough into me. It's because of all this sweating during the day as I work. Bloody good detox though.

I do love to get to the piece of land that I care for, in the evening, when a freshness arrives and I can function probably again. Oh the summers are quite intense here, it's why a lot of people go away, especially during the hottest months, July and August. But June came in with a bang, a very humid one, which is not something we are used to, in these parts. So adapt, we must

When it's this hot, I find it hard to think clearly, so I tend to work in the morning and the evening. Come midday, you don't really want to be working outdoors, especially when there isn't shade. I'm lucky that I get to choose my hours, which makes adapting, so much easier. It also really helps you to reset your body, ending your day, outside on the land, feeling the temp drop, as well as your shoulders.

I worked in the morning, then headed to the land after 7 p.m, to do some watering, dig a new water channel, cut back an invasive plant and clean the pool. All in my own stride, because yes it had cooled down a lot, but it was still quite warm. When it's warm like this, it's best to let your body move more slowly. When you moved slower, you also tend to see more, be more observant, more present. I do enjoy moving slower, it's just difficult sometimes to get up and move, after a rather hot day.

Today was one of those days. When it's hot, say plus 35 degrees I tend to just find a cool place to lie down, cos there is just no point in trying to do anything, unless you really have to. So I did just that and then you just find yourself getting lazy, well I do. I just let myself melt a little with the heat. Melt into the ground. So I had to psych myself up a bit, to get going. But, once was there I was really happy to be in the garden, watering the trees and the veg.

I felt myself coming back to life again. I get a lot of joy, watering the land, seeing it flow on the ground, feeding the earth. Brining everything back to life.
