Mum, I Made You A Flower

"Mum, I made you a flower"

Those were the words my daughter said to me, as she came back inside the truck, with a beautiful flower in her hand, that yes, she had made herself, out of leaves and some bark. You can see it for yourself, in the picture below. I was very impressed I must say and I like to think that whoever is reading this, is impressed too.

It's been quite a while since I have done any nature art with my youngest, I've been so busy with work and life, that I haven't really made the time to do it, so I was super happy to see that me daughter continues to it and do it well. But also that she gave me a beautiful reminder to make the time. It's crazy how we can let our creativity slide, especially when it is exactly what we need.

Just a few hours before my daughter surprised me with my lovely flower, she had been resting in bed as she came home feeling poorly. She has been attending her Kick Boxing Summer Camp, which began yesterday. The first day, she done some training at the local Dojo, followed by some games and then they all went to the local swimming pool, where I collected her from.

It's not too far from where we live, about a 20 minute walk, but that did include, making our way down a steep bank, whilst it was raining (yes we had some rain in June), whilst I was wearing flip flops. That's the exact one in the photo up above. I like a bit of a scramble, I'm always up for an adventure, but first I had to get the flip flops off. Then on the way down, my daughter got stung by a wasp on the leg. I was kind of sliding a bit at this point with my daughters backpack on my back, plus quite a heavy bag of shopping. We were meant to be getting a lift back, but that fell through, at the last minute.( Hence the flip flop wearing, whilst scrambling down the bank.)

So instead we had an adventure. I got to level ground, put the bags down and went back up to help my daughter, who had been crying out in pain. Luckily, what lay ahead of us, cheered her right up. We could hear animal noises in the small woods ahead of us and when we stepped in, we greeted by a rather lovely herd of goats. Goats are so curious and as we stood there, taking in the lovely sight of them, they came a little closer to us. They all looked really healthy, which is so good to see, as some herds are not well looked after unfortunately, something I really struggle with.

Then today, my daughter went to the beach, where they done some training, some paddle boarding and swimming. By the time she got home, she was exhausted and overheated. I took one look at her, got her inside, with the fan on her, got her to drink some water and then lie down, she slept for almost three hours. When she woke up, I gave her some melon, which is great for hydration and she looked and felt much better. So much so, that she then went outside and made me the most beautiful flower.
