What's up plebs?!
Back with another silver coin post! I pulled a random one out of the stack with the ones I have yet to blog about:
This one is one of my smallest in the stack, a Spanish 50 centimos from 1904. Let's take it out of the plastic condom:
Just a basic coin with nothing from back then. On the obverse we have a portrait of Alfonso XIII, King of Spain until 14 April 1931, when the Second Spanish Republic was proclaimed.
Something really interesting about him is that he was one of the few monarchs to take the throne at birth as his father, King Alfonso XII, died before he was born.
The text on this side translates to
Alfonso XIII by the grace of God
We also have the minting date, in this case 1904
----
Let's flip the coin
Basic stuff here as well. The Spanish coat of arms of with the Pillars of Hercules and the denomination, 50 centimos.
The text translates to
Constitutional King of Spain.
Pretty self explanatory 😆
----
A basic edge, the coin is really small and thin so nothing to expect here
----
As I said, the coin is really small with a weight of just 2.5 g. However purity is quite generous at 0.835. That's almost 2.1 g, giving us a spot price of over 2$.

Here are some more pics I shot

Tldr, a basic old silver coin. A coin though with so many stories to tell! Food, accomodations, hookers... It was probably used a bit until it was finally retired and eventually made its way to my stack :D
