GIFU is a meme token created by a team of HIVE members. The token is made as a deflationary meme coin that has also utility cases coming for a custom platform for incentivizing giphy artists to create custom gifs for projects.
Why GIFU ?
In the GIFU whitepaper they say that GIFU aims to revolutionize the way gifs are created, traded and customized, with a plan to create a next gen gif economy.
Gifs are a big part of the internet culture and has been instrumental in shaping how we interact and express ourselves online.
GIFU wants to incentivize meme and gif artists by creating an avenue for them to be rewarded for the work that gets put in.
How GIFU does it
GIFU is launched at first as a meme token with no promise of anything just yet. At the baseline the goal is to attract interest for the idea and create a community of people who love creating or using gifs. As a meme token at the start, they will collect all the revenue created from the token into a 20% APR treasury which will eventually be used to create the GIF platform.
