Today I'm here with a recommendation for an anime that premiered approximately 23 years ago (just writing this makes me realize that 2002 WAS 23 YEARS AGO!!!! WOW!!). It has other seasons, such as Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, but I'd like to tell you about it and expand on it in a new post later. The genres of this anime are action, mecha, science fiction, comedy, and drama. You can find this anime on platforms like Crunchyroll.

SYNOPSIS / SUMMARY:
Sousuke Sagara, a member of a covert anti-terrorist private military organization known as Mithril, is tasked with protecting Kaname Chidori, a spirited Japanese high school girl.
KANAME CHIDORI - OUR PROTAGONIST IN DANGER:
We meet Kaname as an exemplary student, brilliant, determined in any action, and above all, a defender of justice... Although the subtitle I'm using is "our protagonist in danger," it doesn't mean she's a defenseless damsel or princess. She has a very determined character, and despite her strength, she maintains tremendous emotional intelligence.
But the aforementioned only scratches the surface of what she really is. Kaname possesses traits and knowledge that (unbeknownst to her) place her at the center of military and political interests. Her being in danger isn't due to weakness, but rather due to the world and the setting in which the plot unfolds (where there are entities or organizations capable of doing anything for power and technology). This is where they want to use our protagonist as a "key" for dark purposes.
Luckily, Kaname understands that part of his duty and humanity is to receive that protection, since protecting her means protecting her humanity, her right to choose, and, above all, standing her against any force that might exploit her for evil purposes (although there are times when he loses patience with his protector).
SOUSUKE SAGARA - ALL FOR THE MISSION:
Sousuke is a soldier trained since childhood. You could say he's a gun fanatic (there will be many chapters where he makes this abundantly clear LOL). He's so well disciplined that he'll even fight anyone and everyone to fulfill his assigned mission. In keeping with his excellence, he was assigned to covertly and secretly monitor and protect Kaname to avoid raising eyebrows.
And this is where we slowly get to know a new Sousuke, as he enters Kaname's world (friendships, everyday life, and being determined to maintain a fair environment), he slowly discovers himself personally and also learns that the mission beyond surviving each attack and neutralizing threats, is to understand what really deserves to be defended... Although I must admit that there are times when his protective instinct really gets the better of him and he makes our protagonist lose patience.
PLOT CONTRIBUTIONS:
From the beginning, Sousuke is a very focused and duty-oriented person. You could say he's like a "robot" who only follows orders. However, we can observe this duality between duty and personal life... he teaches us that duty and responsibility shouldn't override humanity. This is where he also learns that protecting isn't subjugating. Little by little, his role from guardian evolves into a companion who gradually understands the human needs of others, even behind the scenes.
But it's not just about Sousuke's growth, but Kaname's gradual maturing and gaining strength to truly face the reality in which he lives without losing his essence.
Finally, I highly recommend this anime because it manages to balance action, fights, and battles with human reflection. It's not just about mecha and shooting, but a story about two totally different worlds in which they meet and transform each other. So if you're interested in this type of mecha genre, the evolution of the characters and how they improve emotionally, I highly recommend it. And if you've seen this anime, tell me what you thought (I'd also like to talk about a lot of the Full Metal Panic anime? Fumoffu... but I think I'll talk about that later since from my perspective, despite the plot being the same, they are the same protagonists, it changes in some details since in this next season they have already taken that step of evolution, while here they begin it).

El día de hoy les vengo con la recomendación de un anime que se estrenó ya hace 23 años aproximadamente (Con escribir esto recién caigo en cuenta que 2002 FUE HACE 23 AÑOS!!!! WOW!!). Tiene otras temporadas, como por ejemplo Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, pero quisiera contarlo y expandirme en un nuevo post más adelante. El género de este anime es acción, mecha, ciencia ficción, comedia y drama. Este anime lo pueden encontrar en plataformas como Crunchyroll.

SINOPSIS / RESUMEN:
Sousuke Sagara, miembro de una organización militar privada antiterrorista encubierta conocida como Mithril, tiene la tarea de proteger a Kaname Chidori, una enérgica chica japonesa de secundaria.
KANAME CHIDORI - NUESTRA PROTAGONISTA EN PELIGRO:
Conocemos a Kaname como una alumna ejemplar, brillante, decidida ante cualquier acción y sobre todo defensora de la justicia... Aunque el subtitulo que estoy colocando sea "nuestra protagonista en peligro" no significa que sea una damisela o princesa indefensa, ella tiene un carácter muy determinado y como fuerte mantiene una inteligencia emocional tremenda.
Pero lo mencionado anteriormente solo es una pequeña parte superficial de lo que realmente es, Kaname cuenta con rasgos y conocimientos que (Sin que ella lo desee) la colocan como el centro de intereses militares y políticos. El que se encuentre en peligro no es por debilidad, sino por el mundo y el escenario en donde se realiza la trama (Donde hay entidades u organizaciones capaz de hacer lo que sea por poder y tecnología), aquí es donde desean utilizar a nuestra protagonista como una "llave" para objetivos oscuros.
Por suerte, Kaname entiende que parte de su deber y humanidad es recibir esa protección, ya que protegerla a ella es proteger su humanidad, su derecho a decidir y sobre todo ponerle frente a toda fuerza que desee aprovecharse de ella con fines malignos (Aunque hay momentos en los que llega a perder la paciencia con su protector).
SOUSUKE SAGARA - TODO POR LA MISIÓN:
Sousuke es un soldado entrenado desde niño, se puede decir que es fanático de las armas (Habrán muchísimos capítulos donde nos lo dejará más que claro JAJAJA), lo tienen muy bien disciplinado a tal punto de pelearse con todos con tal de cumplir con su misión asignada. De acuerdo a su excelencia, fue asignado para vigilar y proteger a Kaname de una manera encubierta y secreta para no generar alertas.
Y aquí es donde vamos conociendo poco a poco un nuevo Sousuke, al entrar al mundo de Kaname (A las amistades, cotidianeidad, y ser decidido para mantener un ambiente justo), él va descubriéndose poco a poco personalmente y también aprende que la misión más allá de sobrevivir a cada ataque y neutralizar amenazas, es comprender que es lo que realmente merece ser defendido... Aunque debo admitir que hay momentos en los que realmente le vence el instinto protector y hace perder la paciencia a nuestra protagonista.
APORTES DE LA TRAMA:
Desde un inicio Sousuke es una persona muy centrada y enfocada en su deber, se podría decir que es como un "robot" que solo cumple ordenes, sin embargo, podemos observar esta dualidad entre el deber y la vida personal... nos enseña que el deber y la responsabilidad no debe anular la humanidad. Aquí es donde también aprende que proteger no es someter, poco a poco evoluciona su rol de guardián a compañero que entiende poco a poco las necesidades humanas de los demás, incluso detrás de la misión.
Pero no solo se trata del crecimiento de Sousuke, sino que Kaname poco a poco va madurando y gana fortaleza para enfrentar realmente la realidad en la que vive sin perder su esencia.
Para finalizar, recomiendo mucho este anime por que logra equilibrar la acción, las peleas, batallas con la reflexión humana. No solo se trata de mechas y disparos, sino que es una historia sobre dos mundos totalmente distintos en los que se encuentran y transforman mutuamente. Así que si te llama la atención este tipo de genero Mecha, la evolución de los personajes y como van mejorando emocionalmente, te lo recomiendo mucho. Y si viste este anime, coméntame que tal te pareció (Quisiera contar también gran parte del anime Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu... pero creo que lo hablaré después ya que desde mi perspectiva a pesar de que la trama es igual, son los mismos protagonistas, cambia en algunos detalles ya que en esta siguiente temporada ellos va han dado ese paso de evolución, mientras que aquí lo inician).
