And now we start with the most important part... the introduction of this anime. Perhaps many (if not most) are familiar with it, as it became very popular in late 2022.

This anime is an action, fantasy, suspense, and science fiction series. It has 10 episodes and can be found on Netflix.

SYNOPSIS / SUMMARY:

In a corrupt dystopian reality filled with cybernetic implants, a talented and impulsive young man attempts to become one of the mercenaries known as "edgerunners."

DAVID, NOT ALL PROTAGONISTS SUCCEED:

David is the main character. This anime doesn't present the protagonist as "the classic hero with a happy ending." He's a character who has everything against him. Despite being a boy who dreamed big and had lofty aspirations, he was a simple, naive, and somewhat vulnerable person due to everything he had to endure. After his mother's death, he realizes that the environment he finds himself in doesn't forgive weakness.

After finding himself lost, he meets Lucy, a girl who brings color to his drab life... a person who becomes a ray of light in the midst of all the chaos. Lucy may give the impression of being very cold and distant at first, but she has an innocent dream: to escape the city.

This is where this very special relationship between Lucy and David begins... To think that it all started with a simulation of them on the moon becomes one of the most significant moments to watch. (😭I got a little speck of dirt in my eye remembering this moment along with the song "I Really Want to Stay at Your House"😭)

Later, we meet a new David with the implants and the first step towards the abyss. With these new abilities, one might think that David is invincible and capable of doing anything as long as he makes his improvements and continues with the implants, but in the end, the price he has to pay will be high. As David progresses, he increases his implants, pushing his body and mind to the limit, reaching a point where he no longer recognizes reality (But despite this, he always remains steadfast in one thing: protecting Lucy at all costs, even if it means risking his own life).

Sadly, David meets a sad end; he sacrifices everything to fulfill his final mission and help Lucy escape Night City. And this is where we remember a great man... a person who, despite not winning, fought and gave his all until the very end. Becoming a symbol of resilience.

FINAL CONTRIBUTION / WHAT I LIKED AND DISLIKED:

• Regarding the plot, it's very entertaining and, above all, it "hooks" you. It maintains a good narrative, which means it has a bit of everything in terms of action, romance, comedy, etc.

• Something that left me speechless was the fact that the creators weren't afraid to do whatever they wanted with their characters (you should already know what I mean 💀), especially with David. They maintain and express a very harsh reality, emphasizing that "IN NIGHT CITY, HAPPY ENDINGS DO NOT EXIST."

• Despite being a very entertaining anime to watch, as I mentioned before, I personally would have liked to delve a little deeper into the supporting characters (this is also understandable given the few episodes; perhaps that's why the plot maintains a somewhat fast-paced pace).

• It's an audiovisual masterpiece. The impeccable animation during the action scenes is visually very attractive, with vibrant colors, and the sounds are not presented in a forced manner. It is truly a delight to watch and enjoy this anime.

Y ahora sí empezamos con lo más importante... la presentación de este anime. Quizás mucho (Por no decir la mayoría) puede que lo conozca ya que se hizo muy popular a fines del año 2022.

Este anime es de acción, fantasía, suspenso y ciencia ficción, cuenta con 10 capítulos y se puede encontrar en la plataforma de Netflix.

SYNOPSIS / SUMMARY:

En una corrupta realidad distópica llena de implantes cibernéticos, un joven talentoso e impulsivo intenta convertirse en uno de los mercenarios conocidos como "edgerunners".

DAVID, NO TODOS LOS PROTAGONISTAS TRIUNFAN:

David es el personaje principal, este anime no presentan al protagonista como "el héroe clásico con final feliz", se puede decir que es un personaje con todo en contra. A pesar de ser un chico que soñaba en grande y tener grandes aspiraciones, era una persona sencilla, ingenua y algo vulnerable debido a todo lo que tuvo que vivir. Tras la muerte de su madre, se da cuenta que el entorno en el que se encuentra no se perdona la debilidad.

Luego de encontrarse perdido se encuentra con Lucy, una chica que le da color a su vida gris... una persona que llega a ser un rayo de luz en medio de todo el caos. Lucy puede dar una primera impresión de ser una persona muy fría y distante, sin embargo tiene un sueño inocente con tal de huir de la ciudad.

Aquí es donde empieza esta relación muy especial entre Lucy y David... Pensar que todo inició con una simulación de ellos en la luna, llega a ser uno de los momentos más significativos de ver. (😭Se me metió una basurita en el ojo al recordar este momento junto a la canción "i really want to stay at your house"😭)

Posteriormente vamos conociendo un nuevo David con los implantes y el primer paso hacia el abismo. Con estas nuevas habilidades uno puede pensar que David es invencible y capaz de hacer cualquier cosa siempre y cuando realice sus mejoras y continúe con los implantes, pero al final el precio que tiene que pagar será alto. Conforme avanza, David aumenta sus implantes, llevando su cuerpo y mente al límite, llega un punto en el que no reconoce la realidad (Pero a pesar de eso siempre se mantiene firme en 1 sola cosa que es proteger a Lucy cueste lo que cueste, aunque eso signifique arriesgar su propia vida).

Lamentablemente David tiene un triste final, sacrifica todo para cumplir con su última misión y lograr que Lucy pueda escapar de Night City. Y aquí es donde recordamos a un grande... siendo una persona que a pesar de no ganar, luchó y lo dio todo hasta el final. Convirtiéndose en un símbolo de resistencia.

APORTE FINAL / LO QUE ME GUSTÓ Y NO ME GUSTÓ:

• Con respecto a la trama es muy entretenida y sobre todo te "engancha", mantiene una buena narrativa lo cual genera que tenga un poco de cada tema a nivel de acción, romance, comedia, etc.

• Algo que me dejó plasmada y sin palabras fue el hecho que los creadores no tuvieron el miedo de hacer lo que quieran con sus personajes (Ya deben saber a qué me refiero 💀), sobre todo con David. Mantienen y expresan una realidad muy cruda dando énfasis a que "EN NIGHT CITY NO EXISTEN LOS FINALES FELICES".

• A pesar de ser un anime muy entretenido a ver como mencioné anteriormente, en lo personal si me hubiera gustado profundizar un poco más en los personajes secundarios (También es entendible por los pocos capítulos que manejan, puede que por ello mantiene la trama un ritmo algo acelerado).

• Es una obra maestra a nivel audiovisual. La animación impecable que tiene durante las escenas de acción, visualmente atrae mucho este concepto de colores vibrantes, los sonidos no se presentan de manera forzada, realmente es un deleite el ver y disfrutar de este anime.
