I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 6 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! ๐๐๐โก๐ฅ๐ฅโด๏ธโณ๏ธโ๏ธ๐ฃ๐ฑโจ๐ค
Warm greetings all! ๐๐๐โจ๐ค
I've discussed the BRO-LGN dilemma in these posts a couple times already, and it's one with which I've wrestled for quite a while now. Basically, both BRO and LGN are from the same project, with BRO being older and far more expensive than LGN, and yet, for the same value, LGN pays out about double the HIVE. So as an example, for my ~17.1 BRO, which is presently valued at $28.72, I receive 0.028 HIVE each week (it pays out once per week), and yet for my ~179.01 LGN, that is presently valued at $7.60, I receive 0.009 HIVE daily, and 0.063 HIVE weekly, so quite a bit of a difference!
This morning I had the idea to see how many LGN I would get if I swapped all my BRO, and it came to a whopping 618.7688 LGN! That amount of LGN would notably increase my daily and weekly Hive income, and by several times over (~3.457 times my present LGN income). From a purely economic and investment point of view, it's obvious that I should swap my BRO for more LGN, because it would mean bigger HPUD powerups every month. But investing on Hive, as in the world, is more than just about profit, or at least it should be.
Given that both BRO and LGN are from the same project, I would still be supporting it even if I did swap my BRO for LGN, but I still feel somewhat disloyal about removing my holding of BRO. Over time, however, that extra boost to my HIVE income would really add up, which is what makes me think that making this swap soon might be a good idea.
I just did the math, and that 3.457 times the amount of LGN would give me somewhere around 0.3 HIVE every day. That's really quite a substantial daily boost, that makes it impossible to ignore, so this swap may indeed be happening soon.
This extra 0.3 HIVE every day would give me 9 HIVE per month, and 108 HIVE each year. Yep, I think that I'm going to do it. I've collected and held BRO for pretty much my entire time on Hive, so it makes me feel a little sad to swap, but with that amount of extra HIVE coming in, my HP, and with it my ability to help, support, and lift people and projects with whom I interact, will increase very well indeed.
Yesterday, Sunday, I left the Flow House, after finishing up my Hive tasks, quite late, just after 3PM, giving my attention first to some photography for my posts. We didn't have flowing water on the property yesterday due to a plumbing issue, which made it quite challenging to get various things done, as I couldn't wash any dishes, or take a shower after working. Very hopefully we'll get it fixed today. I helped Avi with a map application that he's writing for the GaiaYoga Gardens property, by sending him some satelite images of the property, with the structures labeled. After helping Avi, I got my jar of leftover superfood fire coffee from the fridge, and with that in hand, I made my way back to the Flow House, to begin my evening Hive tasks, and to catch up on my notifications. I got everything done by 10PM, and after some asset management, and a quick scan of my X feed, I went to bed just a bit after 10:30PM. I woke up just after 6AM, having slept well, doing more asset management, going to make my superfood fire coffee in the Landing, returning to the Flow House to write and publish My 168th Sunday Weekly Hive Goals and Progress Update: 10,600 HP Surpassed, Another Great Pool Past Payout Threshold, and the InLeo Whirlwind, and then to begin on this post. It's now just after 12:45PM, so quite a good time to wrap this up, so that I may get to my other few important Hive tasks, before leaving the Flow House a little later in the afternoon, to focus first on photography for my posts, collecting coconut water and coconut meat from several younger coconuts to start another round of kefir fermenting (I couldn't do it yesterday with no water), and then community/land work. I deeply appreciate y'all so very much! Until tomorrow's edition of these posts! Always forward, onward, upward, and whaleward, ho, together we go! ๐ ๐ ๐ โจ ๐ค
2025 Life Goals
1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.
2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.
3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.
4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
All photos were taken with my Motorola G Play 2024 Android Phone.
Thank you all so much who have helped me get to where I am today, and allowing me to share more of the beauty and magic from my life and my world with you, and for your continuous appreciation and support! I am truly deeply grateful! ๐๐๐โจ๐ค
