This is my post on #freewriters2886 #dailyprompt solid ground hosted by @marinnewest's. In the heart of Ikot Ekpene stood Ndito Plaza, a lively hub where traders, students, and travelers crossed paths daily. For years, the plaza had been a symbol of growth, yet beneath its charm lay a constant problem — the poor condition of IBAN Ikpa Road that led to it. Each rainy season, the road turned muddy, slowing business and frustrating commuters. Then came Solid Ground Construction, a young local company determined to make a difference. Their manager, Mr. Edet, believed that true development began with strong foundations. When the contract to rehabilitate IBAN Ikpa Road was awarded to his firm, he saw more than a project — he saw a chance to restore pride to the community. Work began early each morning. Machines roared, workers sweated under the sun, and curious residents gathered to watch. Within weeks, the once muddy path was transformed into a smooth asphalt road lined with proper drainage. The change was immediate — traders at Ndito Plaza received more customers, and transporters no longer feared breakdowns. When the final section was completed, the town celebrated. Children ran along the new road shouting, “Solid Ground! Solid Work!” as ribbons were cut. For the people of Ikot Ekpene, the new IBAN Ikpa Road was more than just a route; it was a symbol of progress, unity, and hope. Ndito Plaza now stood prouder than ever, its heartbeat steady on truly solid ground.
