Desde que me interesé en el ajedrez, quería ser más que un simple jugador, así que una vez convocaron para un seminario de arbitraje y me enlisté, y tras presentar el examen más díficil de mi vida, aprobé con un 86/100 (solo aprobabas con un 85% de pts).
Desde ese día, aparte de ser jugador y ficha de mi distrito, soy también parte del cuerpo de arbitraje.
Este fin de semana, se realizó un evento híbrido, el XXIV IRT Híbrido de Las Américas 2025, y estando más de la mitad de jugadores y árbitros fuera del estado por un evento en colombia y un festival nacional, la comisión de árbitros de la federación me pidió supervisar y arbitrar el evento.
Un torneo híbrido es un torneo online jugados a través de la plataforma Tornelo, donde los jugadores se organizan en sedes donde son arbitrados y supervisados por árbitros internacionales, organizadores internacionales y árbitros Anticheating. La finalidad de realizar estos torneos es permitir el intercambio internacional de jugadores, además de poder obtener ELO de jugadores externos a nuestras propias federaciones.

En este caso, fue un IRT a ritmo clásico de 30+30. Se jugó desde el sábado en la mañana hasta hoy domingo en la tarde. Ambos días llegué bastante temprano, mucho antes de que iniciara la ronda para poder instalar las cámaras Anticheating y estar atento a cualquier cosa.
Estando tantos representantes del estado compitiendo a nivel nacional, solo se inscribieron un par de jugadores de bajo rating. Siendo francos, no me dieron mucho trabajo mis jugadores, se portaron bien, y solo tuve un llamado de atención del equipo Anticheating por "actitud sospechosa", pues mi jugador estuvo 15 minutos en el baño, pero en realidad sólo se trató de un caso de diarrea. Lo único que les puedo reprochar a mis jugadores es que me quería ir temprano a casa y al terminar la última ronda del día sábado ya era de noche, pero al menos hubo un lindo anochecer.
Entre ronda y ronda, la sala de juego, la cual es nuestra academia principal, quedaba sola para mí, y siendo un fin de semana con tanta actividad deportiva, colocaba en el televisor de la sala las partidas de la selección, o algún juego de fútbol en curso, ya saben, para entretenerme mientras volvían mis jugadores para la siguiente ronda.
A pesar de ser solo 4 jugadores de 1600, me entretuve mucho viendo sus partidas a través del sistema. No negaré que a más de uno le hice bullying a causa de su nefasto rendimiento, pero fue una linda experiencia supervisar la sede yo solo. Y lo mejor de todo, la sede obtuvo una medalla de bronce.

This weekend, a hybrid event was held, the XXIV IRT Hybrid of the Americas 2025, and with more than half of the players and referees out of state for an event in Colombia and a national festival, the federation's referees' committee asked me to supervise and referee the event. A hybrid tournament is an online tournament played through the Tornelo platform, where players are organized into venues where they are refereed and supervised by international referees, international organizers, and anti-cheating referees. The purpose of these tournaments is to allow for the international exchange of players, as well as to obtain ELO ratings for players outside our own federations. Both days I arrived quite early, well before the round started, so I could install the anti-cheating cameras and keep an eye on everything. With so many state representatives competing at the national level, only a couple of low-rated players registered. To be honest, my players didn't give me much trouble, they behaved well, and I only had one warning from the anti-cheating team for "suspicious behavior," as my player spent 15 minutes in the bathroom, but it was actually just a case of diarrhea. The only thing I can reproach my players for is that I wanted to go home early, and by the time we finished the last round on Saturday, it was already dark, but at least there was a beautiful sunset.       Between rounds, the game room, which is our main academy, was left to me alone, and since it was a weekend with so much sporting activity, I put the national team's games or some soccer game on the TV in the room, you know, to entertain myself while my players returned for the next round.    Despite there being only four players rated 1600, I was very entertained watching their games through the system. I won't deny that I bullied more than one of them because of their poor performance, but it was a nice experience to supervise the venue on my own. Best of all, the venue won a bronze medal.
