Hello everyone, welcome to my blog. From my perspective, art is more than just an expression, it is a way of life. We all love to appreciate art and see so many colours, shapes, textures and strange objects; and thank God there are these spaces to share art. A few days ago, I was in Bolívar Square in Asunción, bored of reading so much unemotional poetry. So I decided to look around and saw that the doors of the Asunción cultural centre were open, so I decided to go in and take a look. Originally, these spaces are named after a prominent artist from the city; however, it seems that naming a place in honour of an artist makes them more likely to be forgotten, because honestly, I had never heard of the sculptor Dr. Nicolás Navarro in my life. Upon entering, I was fascinated by the concept of the space, as it has a central garden with some benches perfect for sitting down to philosophise or simply enjoy an ice cream. In addition to a beautiful garden, all the walls are covered with quite expressive paintings, which I have taken some photos of to share with you. My favourite was a kind of swampy landscape, with very dark greens, but with the beautiful artistic detail of a very colourful turpial in the middle of the painting; definitely wonderful. I also saw a portrait of Simón Bolívar, in which the artist clearly did not skimp on paint or try to hide the greatness of El Libertador. But what caught my attention the most was a very curious sculpture, whose artist seemed to be inspired by Andy Warhol (or something else), as it is a small man carrying something in his hands to his mouth... My reasoning is that it clearly refers to a man playing the flute or some other instrument. Without a doubt, a very curious sculpture. I invite you to visit and share more of these types of places, because without art, the life we live would not be so beautiful. Thank you for reading and sharing, see you next time.
