Just a quicky, going into my main Kroger Ogre grocery stop, and as usual I checked the coinstar no-armed bandit. I have a love/hate relationship with this thing, I hate that it takes a rather large % of the money one may change in the machine, but I also love the fact that it REJECTS any slugs, foreign objects and coins, and anything which the weight is not within spec.
...this includes SILVER COINS ๐ช
This time, I find myself Harvesting a US Quarter. State Quarter, 2007, Idaho [(no, U DA HOE!!) ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ] so I'm not real excited. But I look at it a bit closer, anyway. Up to this moment, I've never seen a State Quarter from a Silver proof set, so I'm thinking I need to weigh this at home.
BINGO! ๐ช ๐ฐ
Yes, this was the 90% Silver type!
This one was slightly tarnished but looking very "AU" or "almost uncirculated", the weight was dead on for a new Silver Quarter ๐ค This was a mistake, or some overzealous kid got into mom or dad's coins, and it's now safely in Undy-Baby's Stash, FOREVER...
Here's the obverse, standard GW head, and you can see the tarnish.
