Macrolepiota - The Corner Mushroom's Dream!

Namaste to all fungi hunters!

Macrolepiota was a newborn mushroom. He had burst into existence a few days ago, pushing his perfect, creamy colored cap through the moist soil in a forgotten corner of a public park.

"Wow, what a beautiful world!" He must have thought, stretching his cap and gills wide to take in the scent of the earth and the distant sound of people walking and children playing. He must have felt a simple joy of just being a mushroom,๐Ÿ„ a little, cute, citizen of the grass. He must be smiling by the dewdrop clinging to his cap and the green moss that cradled his stem. But what should be the purpose of his life, especially growing up in a forgotten corner of the park like this?

And perhaps after a few days, the same question must have crossed his mind, and his world must have seemed small. His entire life was confined to a broken concrete sidewalk and the green grass of the park. There were no other mushrooms around him; the grass was even shorter and untidier, and all he could see were busy ants and the occasional insect.

I hadn't thought about it, but while writing this story about this mushroom brought a deep sigh of my own, a sigh that can be felt more than heard. He must have thought sadly about its life, "I'll live here, and I'll end here."

And perhaps this mushroom thought that if only it were growing in a clean farm instead of in a forgotten corner of a park, its life would be different and full of excitement, with many friends like itself, an environment filled with love and care. Instead of worrying about being trampled under the feet of a distracted dog, there would be excitement about which farmer would pick them first!

But then, a thought must have crossed his mind that being a farm mushroom might be exciting, but it would also be hectic. It meant the pressure to be perfect all the time. Here, in his quiet corner, he was completely free. Cool air, soft soil, ants and insect friends, and above all, FREEDOM.

Then, opening his eyes, he must have thought, "I may not make it to the pan, but I will certainly be the happiest, most fragrant, most wonderful mushroom this forgotten corner has ever seen." And perhaps, with that, he puffed out his cap a little. ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ˜Š
