Namaste to all the citizens of Splinterlands!🙏
In this week's 🌟Splinterlands Social Media Challenge🌟, I'm going to show you one of my battles in Modern ranked mode, where I built a solid team with Up Close and Personal rulesets and swept the enemy without taking any major losses. Battles with rulesets are different because you not only have to pay attention to the cards and your strategy, but also take into account the changes that the ruleset makes to the battlefield, and you can't ignore this because a ruleset can make even your full-proof strategy fail and ineffective. Although this ruleset is simple, there are some things to keep in mind.

Look at my lineup for this outstanding battle!
So you know that this battle has an Up Close and Personal ruleset, according to which only melee attackers can be used to this battle, so obviously your strategy will be based on that only. Now, one problem with melee attackers is that without some special abilities and battle conditions, they cannot perform anywhere in the lineup except the first position, so you also have to keep in mind that all or a maximum of your cards should be attack-ready. Keeping all these things in mind, I have made this team with the available cards in my deck, in which, except for my third position card, all others are attack-ready and are comparatively more deadly than the enemy. And one important thing that I have taken advantage of is that since I know that only melee attackers can participate in this battle, I have placed a card with Thorns ability at the front of my lineup, which also has decent attack power, which means, this card will not only attack the enemy directly but will also damage the enemy with Thorns in retaliation.
Now let's see what happens when the battle starts!
Round 1, 2 and 3🔥
Above, you can see the attacks of my two most dangerous cards. There were no casualties in the first round of attacks, but at the beginning of the second round, the 4 melee attack power of my second last position card knocked out the enemy in a single attack. After which, in the third round, my second-position melee attacker, whose attack power was increased by Archan's power, conquered another enemy card in a single hit. This is the power of a good strategy made with good cards because the mana cap and ruleset were equal for both players, but one of them did not pay attention to the basics of melee attack, or we can say paid less attention, due to which my team was able to maintain a lot of pressure on the enemy from the very beginning.
In the above screenshots, you can see the advantage of having a card with the Thorns ability in the team. Where, after a successful attack by the enemy, Thorns causes -2 health damage to the enemy. However, the Thorn's ability returns damage to melee attacks only, so at least in those battles where you are likely to have melee cards, you can use these Thorn's ability cards very well because when you face melee attackers, due to this ability, your card becomes more lethal than its own attack capacity.
Now the enemy has only two cards left whose attack power is the lowest; on the other hand, there are still four cards left in my lineup whose attack power, health and speed are all very good, so you can guess who would have won this battle. However, let me tell you that at this time, the enemy's first position card also has the Heal ability, which can play a big role in changing the course of a game, but to know whether the course of this battle changed or not, you will have to watch this battle. And although you can guess the result by watching every attack on the battlefield and its retaliation step by step, you can also learn a lot, which will be more helpful for you technically.
