John 1:5 - And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
The Gospel of John presents Jesus as the 'Word'. John stressed that the Word is eternal. The Word was God and the Word was with God. John did not only present Jesus as the Word but also as the source of life and as light. Jesus gives life to everyone and eliminates the way for those who acknowledge Him. The imagery of light represents God's guidance. In this life we often work through the dark parts of evil and the shadow of death. But the Bible can be our light, to show us the way ahead so that we will not stumble. In the light of this understanding, this light of Life was born so that day by day as we travel through life we can have the Word of God as our guide
