For the entire month of August in the Philippines, people celebrate Buwan ng Wika, or Filipino Language Month. This holiday seeks to shed light on the importance of the Filipino language and the pagkakaisa (“unity”) it brought to the country. While the status of the Filipino language in the Philippines is debated, it serves as a marker of pagkakakilanlan (“identity”) for many! Source
Glad that before the high tide strikes again my son and his classmates were able to practice for the languages month. I never experienced these kinds of activities when we were in junior high school.
These are where they practice their dance steps. They took three weeks to clearly memorize the steps. The place was wide for them. Seeing these students I imagine if senior high school didn't implement in the Philippines. They are just kids that love to play every break time. While they are climbing trees they forget how old they are. They smile to forget their stress and problems. Some of my son's classmates also experience the flood inside their houses. My son said that all grade 10 levels have to dance for the language month. Sometimes they fight in the group chat, because some students can't attend on time. Their dance performance will pull their grades that they couldn't pass in the past weeks when there are floods and typhoons all over the province.
If you notice the pictures; maybe two to three years the floodwaters will rise there too. The Senate hearing is talking about the flood control issues in the Philippines. And all we can say is they made us suffer a lot of years before they noticed the projects were ghosted and corrupted. Our minds were very confused after we heard about the flood control project. What kind of future can we give to our children if we are being accused face to face by corrupt people? We just hope that while these young ones are growing they will not loose hope for their generation and for the next one's.
