English

Hello everyone! This Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge is about Battlefield Breakdowns! I'm here to share a battle I won by securing combat positions and renting new cards for my team. Seeing your opponent's battles gives you a great advantage in how to fight; it depends on the cards you have and rent so that you win more battles and climb higher in rank, but as you climb higher the battles become more difficult.

Battle

In this battle, we are granted 56 mana, and the combat rule is:

  • Maneuvers: All units have Reach.

Since there are two elements, I'm going with Akane so I can play both elements (WATER and DRAGON).

  • Daigendark Surveyor in the first position so that she can return magical damage.
  • Commander Slader in the second position, having Reach, can attack and is quite useful against physical damage since he can dodge many attacks due to his high speed.
  • Abyssal Elemental in the third position, a card that returns to the battle and damages all units -1, quite useful so that it can tank several attacks while the rear units do damage.
  • Rage in the fourth position, an extremely strong card with a high attack, Flying and Void resists both physical and magical attacks, although it costs 16 mana. In high mana battles, always choose Rage.
  • Dragon Egg Forager in the fifth position, a strong card, if it were at LVL 8(max) it would be very lethal, but even so it has a high attack, in addition this card attacks the enemy unit with the least life (Opportunity).
  • Night Reaper in the last position, this card prioritizes attacking Flying units and takes a +2 damage bonus when attacking Flying, quite strong in the last position due to Last Stand which, if it is the only unit on your field, doubles its stats.

  • Before starting the battle I have to choose two units to give Ambush to, in this case I put Night Reaper so that it attacks the Flying units and does more damage.
  • And the other is Dragon Egg since it will damage the lowest unit in this case would be Daarg Deadblast.

Round 1

  • Rage defeats Daigendark, though he reflects some of his magic damage.

  • Dragon Egg defeats Daarg, causing him to lose Swiftness on his units.

Round 2

  • Rage defeats the enemy Rage, and puts Poison on my Rage and Dragon Egg.

image.png

Round 3

  • My Night Reaper defeats the enemy Reaper, and it inflicts Poison on him. That makes three of my units with Poison.

  • Dragon Egg defeats Abyssal, and he returns using his ability, dealing -1 damage to all units.

image.png

Round 4

In round 4, Poison damages all 3 of my units.

  • The enemy Commander defeats my Commander.

  • Rage defeats the enemy Commander.

image.png

Round 5

Poison defeats Rage.

  • My Dragon Egg defeats Daigendark.

  • The enemy Dragon Egg defeats Abyssal.

And in the final Round 6.

My Dragon Egg defeats the enemy Dragon, giving me the victory.

Full Battle

It was an almost equal battle; the position of the units is important. Perhaps if their Rage had been in a different position, the result would have been different. For Ambush, you have to decide who to assign, since it usually chooses Rage and Night Reaper, but seeing the Daarg and that it grants Swiftness, I opted to assign Dragon Egg to attack it. Looking at its units, the Daarg has the lowest health, allowing Dragon Egg to attack it in the Ambush round, and be defeated in Round 1 by Dragon Egg, thus removing the enemy's Swiftness buff.

Rent Rage this season because in previous seasons I lost several battles because I didn't have another Flying unit, and my Night Reaper was being defeated by other Reapers since it was the only unit with Flying on my field. Rage can withstand Reaper's damage quite well because of Void, which is a good card to counter Reaper.
