KEY FACTS: Trust Wallet, a self-custodial cryptocurrency wallet owned by Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao, has launched tokenized stocks and ETFs on its platform, enabling users to swap stablecoins like USDC for digital representations of assets like Apple, Tesla, and major U.S. ETFs on the Ethereum blockchain, with plans to expand to Solana. This integration, facilitated by partnerships with Ondo Finance and 1inch, allows users to invest with as little as $1, bypassing traditional financial barriers. Available during U.S. market hours and restricted in regions like the U.S., U.K., and EEA, this move democratizes access to global markets, aligning with Trust Wallet’s vision of a Web3 neo bank, though challenges like regulatory compliance and issuer trust remain.

# Trust Wallet Launches Tokenized Stocks and ETFs
Trust Wallet, the self-custodial cryptocurrency wallet owned by Binance co-founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, has officially integrated tokenized stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) into its platform. Announced on September 3, 2025, this development marks a significant step in Trust Wallet’s mission to democratize access to global financial markets through blockchain technology. Trust Wallet is partnering with decentralized finance (DeFi) powerhouse Ondo Finance and decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator 1inch to bring real-world assets (RWAs) to its users, initially on the Ethereum blockchain, with plans to expand to Solana in the near future.

The integration of tokenized RWAs into Trust Wallet’s self-custodial wallet allows users to swap stablecoins like USDC for digital representations of U.S. stocks and ETFs, such as Apple (AAPL), Tesla (TSLA), Alibaba (BABA), and major U.S. exchange-traded funds. These tokens, issued through smart contracts, are not the actual shares but blockchain-based representations that track the value of their real-world counterparts. This innovative approach eliminates many of the traditional barriers to investing, such as the need for local brokerage accounts, extensive documentation, or high minimum investment thresholds. With Trust Wallet’s RWA offering, users can start investing with as little as $1, making global markets accessible to millions who were previously excluded due to geographic or financial constraints.
Sami Waittinen, Trust Wallet’s marketing head, encapsulated the significance of this launch, stating, “In short, Ondo brings the assets, 1inch powers the rails, and Trust Wallet makes it accessible in self-custody, acting as a platform or tool.” He emphasized the wallet’s multichain, provider-agnostic philosophy, noting that this is just the beginning of Trust Wallet’s journey to integrate more RWA providers and liquidity sources to ensure the broadest possible access for users.
The process of accessing RWAs through Trust Wallet is designed to be seamless and user-friendly, aligning with the platform’s goal of simplifying financial access. Within the Trust Wallet app, users can navigate to the Swap screen, where they can trade assets like USDC for tokenized versions of stocks or ETFs, such as AAPLon (the tokenized version of Apple stock). Ondo Finance provides the tokenized assets, which are issued on Ethereum using smart contracts, while 1inch Fusion API ensures smooth and efficient swaps by optimizing liquidity and pricing. Smart contracts and price feeds work behind the scenes to maintain alignment between the tokenized assets and their real-world counterparts, hiding the complexity from users. Once the swap is complete, the RWA tokens appear in the user’s portfolio alongside their other crypto assets, creating a unified dashboard for managing both traditional and decentralized investments.
However, there are limitations to note. RWA token swapping is restricted to U.S. market hours, from Monday to Friday, 1:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. UTC, and is not available in certain regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Economic Area. The company is tracking off-hours interest, with potential plans to introduce 24/7 trading or limit orders in the future, further enhancing the platform’s flexibility.
Trust Wallet’s integration of RWAs is a pioneering effort to combine the benefits of self-custody with the accessibility of tokenized traditional assets. Self-custody allows users to manage their assets independently, free from centralized control, giving them full ownership of their private keys. Tokenized RWAs, on the other hand, are digital representations of real-world properties—such as stocks, ETFs, or bonds—that serve as certificates of ownership on the blockchain. This combination enables users to hold and trade assets like Apple or Tesla stock in the same wallet as their Bitcoin or Ethereum, all without relying on traditional financial intermediaries.
The launch of tokenized stocks and ETFs on Trust Wallet comes at a time when the tokenization of real-world assets is gaining significant traction. Analysts estimate that the market for tokenized assets could reach $16 trillion by 2030, driven by the promise of increased liquidity, fractional ownership, and reduced reliance on intermediaries. Solana, in particular, has emerged as a key player in this space, with its RWA market surging 141% in 2025 to over $418 million, outpacing Ethereum’s 81% growth. Trust Wallet’s planned expansion to Solana aligns with this trend, leveraging the blockchain’s high throughput, low transaction costs, and robust developer ecosystem to enhance its RWA offerings.
Trust Wallet’s CEO, Eowyn Chen, framed the integration of RWAs as a step toward building a “Web3 neo bank”, a comprehensive platform for managing crypto, staking, identity, and now tokenized traditional assets. He posited that integrating RWAs into self-custodial wallets is an important step in making global finance more open and efficient.
Trust Wallet’s partnerships with Ondo Finance and 1inch, combined with its plans to integrate more RWA providers and expand to additional blockchains like Solana and BNB Chain, position it as a leader in the tokenization space. The platform’s user-friendly interface and self-custodial model make it accessible to millions of users worldwide, particularly those in regions with limited access to traditional financial markets. Trust Wallet is placing tokenized equities and ETFs within a familiar mobile wallet to transform what was once a privilege into an everyday opportunity. As the platform continues to expand its RWA offerings and integrate new blockchains, it is poised to play a pivotal role in the growing tokenization movement, bringing traditional financial instruments to the fingertips of users worldwide.
