The Nani Lake or Eye Shaped lake
Radhe Radhe Everyone! In today's blog of exploring Nainital we will see Kumaon hills and the lush green forest, mountains and valleys. So after discovering and roaming around the mushroom shaped rain shelter our travel guide took us to another destination from where the whole Nani lake along with the town can be seen easily. The rain has finally stopped but you can't predict weather on a monsoon day.
This was our cab and our guide and you can see the huge trees surrounding the curved roads. We are not that far away from the bus stand, it was nearly 3 km away but it feel like we have reached between mountains and forest. The wind was cold and the aroma of wild flower was making it more mesmerizing. The vibes were great, it felt like I'm in a movie.
This road had deep curves so I would advise you to not rent a car cause driving in planes and in hilly areas are totally different and it can be risky. Not even for a moment, I had kept my head inside the car, I was so mesmerized by the beauty around and after every turn a beautiful landscape came in front of you. For someone who loves mountain it's the best destination.
After travelling 2 km away from the rain shelter finally got the view of whole Nani Lake from the distance. As the name suggest it look like kidney shape or eye shaped and this is how the town got it's name. This Lake is huge and it's around 1.5 km long and 0.5 km wide. Its my first time seeing such huge natural lake so I couldn't keep calm. And our tour guide told us that the lake is divided into two parts one is Northern part and it is also called Mallital where Nana Devi temple and bus stand is situated and another southern end is called Tallital where the iconic bridge and clock Tower is situated.
Well there are lots of stories behind the lake and one of them is according to the mythology when lord Shiva was carrying goddess Sati across the universe her left eye fell at this part and therefore it became Nani lake. It also explain the connection of eye shaped and the temple of Naina Devi at the northern end. Is really blessed and at each and every corner you will see temples of different God and Goddess.
Imagine a Lake so huge that you have to divide it into two ends and the whole town is situated around it. That's the story of our Naini lake and its beauty gone be described in words not in even sentences. After saying the best view of my life we went forward to explore more and you see the kumaon hills around the Nainital.
We were really lucky to found this travel guide as for a traveller it's a difficult to really explore all the tourist spot without any guidance so it's better to find someone who knows everything about the area. He took us to another very famous part which was nearly 2 km away from the Naini Lake spot. At this spot you will see lots of tourist as the view from here is literally mesmerizing. Well the term of Nainital is in just the water it's also the hills that surround it and its like a crown.
Nainital is a cluster of 7 lakes and it is also believe that there are seven hills which one is different and have its own charm. The hill in the pictures is known as manna hill and it gives you the standing view of the lake and the town.
The Famous View Point
You can see the lush green forest in the background and people taking pictures with it. Also police was there to ensure the safety of the tourist and to maintain the discipline in a crowded space. The pollution here is literally low may it be air pollution or the water pollution cause people are really aware and they have taken certain steps to control it.
The Kumaon Hills
This was the view in front of us mesmerizing, isn't it? I couldn't believe my eyes and mostly you get this amazing you after a hard climb but here at Nainital it's possible cause is surrounded by the beautiful mountains. See the sky full of clouds and clouds between the mountains, evaporating and moving as fast as possible.
There were mountains all around, as far as you can see and it's a relief cause being such a famous spot and tourist destination the forest and the environment is still not harmed and the huge green trees are standing tall. Supporting the flora and fauna these forest and mountains are incredible and words watching.
I can spend the rest of my day here but I only had two days and there were also famous spots that I have to cover so I kept this in my memory and locked it until I return again.
These are some of the close up pictures of the mountains and the clouds that I loved and I hope you will love them too.
These mountains are covered by oak trees pine trees and deodar trees and they surround the Nainital making it above shaped valley. You can see the Himalayan ranges and on a clear day Naina peak is also seen from here. Out of all the beaks Naina peak is the highest and you can get a 360 view of the down on a clear day. Other huge Himalayan pics are Trishul and Nanda kot which can also be seen easily but only on a clear day.
Basically it's like the Nani Lake is at the centre and when heels are around it protecting it and making it look even more amazing. For the record I have taken all this pictures by myself with my phone. This was all about today's blog and in my upcoming blogs I'll share more search interesting tourist spots at Nainital so stay connected and show your love in the comments.
