Hello Hive!
We interrupt our series of posts about Chile to share an incredible experience straight from Rio de Janeiro: Hive's participation in the Blockchain Rio event, which had a "dream team" present.
As soon as I heard about Hive's participation in Blockchain Rio, I was immediately interested and signed up.
I knew it would be really cool to be able to talk about Hive in person with other people, put a face to the hive-nick and share about our favorite social network, oops!, blockchain...
I left São Paulo at dawn and a few hours later I was already in Rio, which by the way:
O Rio de Janeiro continua lindo! 🎵🎵🎵
Rio de Janeiro is still beautiful! 🎵🎵🎵
One Day Before the Event
One day before the event, I took the opportunity to explore the city a little.
But first, that Espresso to "kick off" our day.
I went to have lunch at Botafogo Shopping, a mall with several restaurants with incredible views of Botafogo beach, Morro da Urca and Pão de Açúcar.

Arrival at the Event
The next day I went to the event early in the morning, which was only 10 minutes from the hotel. With no traffic, the arrival was smooth.
I noticed a huge line, and I thought it was strange, until I found out why.
The event's ticket system was not using Hive Blockchain to process the invitations (joke), which resulted in a traffic jam to get into the event.
A tip for the organizers: Hive is fast and doesn't crash!
I took the opportunity to network in the line, talking to other excited participants full of innovative ideas.
One of the organizers took advantage of the line to go from person to person and teach about how the official Blockchain Rio app worked, which I found very interesting.
In addition to the event map, it has a schedule of talks and a mini social network, where you can make a post and facilitate networking with other people interested in the same subject.
I don't believe it was used much, I followed the posts throughout the day and there were few interactions, but I liked the idea. I'm going to open it to see if there were any updates.
First Impressions
After getting in, I went straight to the Hive booth, where I was very well received by the "dream team", made up of community heroes such as:
@mengao, @xvlad and @ezekhiveadict and many other members of the @skatehive and @hivebr community who were present and are doing a phenomenal job in the Brazilian Hive community.
@starkerz, who does a great job helping the SPK Network and 3Speak, Co-Host of the @CTTPodcast and did a great job explaining the @thedistriator system.
@jonsnow1983 & @edmundochauran, who are doing a great job on Hive Sucre and Venezuela and helped us a lot on onboarding new people on hive and explaining the whole ecosystem.
@disregardfiat, who I always admire due to the dlux.io and other systems.
@arlettemsalase, who organized and made my participation in the event possible.
@SkateHive Rocks!

And I can say that it was incredible to meet everyone in person and be able to talk about Hive Blockchain and several other topics, and that our conversations here and on Discord made things much easier and it felt like we had known each other for a long time.

The Blockchain Rio
As soon as the event began, many people wanted to know more about Hive and how it works.
The new feature from @thedistriator was very well received, with many people trying out shopping and receiving cashback, among other benefits of the project.
It's worth checking out!
I really enjoyed the event in general, with people walking around the stands, presenting their ideas and projects, all speaking the same Crypto language, but there were also many who had no experience in blockchain and were there to learn.
My focus was to stay at the Hive stand, helping the team by translating explanations and helping out where I could, doing onboarding or simply explaining about Hive.
We adopted a good practice of asking people what they do beforehand, so we could direct them to how Hive could help solve problems for them.
If I were a journalist, I would create posts and create communities. If I were a developer, I would create dApps and why not also post?!
Explaining about L2, https://hive-engine.com and its tokens. Although the event was a bit noisy for in-depth conversations, we managed to take turns at the booth and help visitors.
It was a valuable opportunity to clarify questions about Hive, blockchain and SocialFi.
A break for some art
The event featured a psychedelic space full of digital art on display, NFTS and ideas on how to interact with NFTs in the real world. Hacktown championships and contests from other networks and perhaps much more that I didn't remember when writing this post.

Second Day of the Event
On the second day, the activities were even more fluid.
Some people returned with recurring questions and we were able to align our speeches even more.
We also had the chance to talk to influencers, journalists, users and developers, and align the possibilities of Hive with their needs.
Some want to start their own frontend, their communities or use the ones already created and available. Now we need to retain these users, a challenge for everyone.
Issues such as the functionality of @keychain, the various access keys, and the characteristics of Hive tokens were clarified perfectly, which was chosen to be promoted at the event due to its efficiency and ease of use.
The onboarding "bombed" after @xvlag's incredible idea of putting a message "Download Keychain and earn tokens". It rained even more people interested in learning more about how to earn tokens, which can be a tip for the next events.
With that, whoever downloaded the keychain and opened an account, we sent some Hives and delegated HP to help them get started in our world.

Hive on Stage
We took to the stage to spread the word about Hive and share our personal experiences with the crowd, who were very excited!
General topics on how Hive can help people not only in Defi, but also in Communities and Rewards.
Work that #SkateHive is doing in Hive's most active skateboarding community, with its own frontend and amazing team.
And how Hive and #HiveBr can help more people do the same.

And much more...
From all the conversations, several ideas for new projects emerged and we dedicated last week to helping newcomers and working on virtual brainstorms.
We created a welcome post for newcomers, with the help of @skatehive and @hivebr.
A suggestion for the frontend teams is to create a first-time user tutorial to help beginners.
Common questions include how to create a new post, the difference between posting on a blog and in a community, how to find communities, format posts, and understand the rules of the platform and the community.
By the way, we are an uncensored social network, but it's not messy either!
The event featured big names in the Crypto world.
Several lectures, NFT exhibition, solutions for real estate markets, Exchanges and talks about regulations.
The article by our newcomer @vanessabarrostec portrayed the event and the main news very well:

And of course, after the two days of the event, we had some time to have more relaxed conversations, laughs and fun moments. After all: Stroganoff!

Mas antes, aquele Espresso "to kick off" nosso dia.
