School examination can be funny at times especially when lecturers decide to be funny, there was this time my department almost ganged up to beat a senior lecturer of another department and it wasn't funny at all, right from the start we were supposed to stick with our departmental courses and let other department courses rest but our own head of department won't do anything than to keep smiling up and down, other basic medical science department refused to engage in course outside their department but my own department decided to pick courses from other department and no matter our complaints we always get the same replies "your senior did those courses and they passed".
300 level was hot and tough on us, this particular anatomy course came up with 22 topics for a particular course for that semester, we all murmured the day the lecturer wrote out the topics in class because it was too much, the lecturer will come to class during his period, do his task and leave, the way we were doing the theory part, we were also doing the practical session making sure we know the particular human body structure for that particular semester and it was really overwhelming. Then came the exam moment, out of 22 course topic, our lecturer was able to do 20 topics and that 20 was our angle of concentration, we thought since we covered 20 topics, the exam will come out of those 20 topics and honestly me and my little team read these topics like our heart depended on it, at some point I checked out the two topics we couldn't cover, skim through it.
We entered the exam hall with our usual sitting formations, relaxed while hoping we got it covered, first exam which was MCQ came in and we saw 100 questions with 4 options (ABCD) which we need to answer each with true or false which make it 400 question in total and we need to be done in 1 hour, plus the negative marking that came with it. I sense trouble looming immediately, manage to do half of it before I got tired (my brain was screaming) and I started filling T or F without even reading the remaining questions. After the MCQ, they brought the theory part, just two questions which was suppose to make us happy but it made us even sad, out of the 20 topics the lecturer managed to teach us, nothing came out instead he brought out question 2 question out of the remaining 2 he didn't teach us, my hands were shaking that day, I chewed my pen cover while looking at the ceiling as if the answers were hiding there, nothing to write that day, even the best among us almost slept off.
That day, the cheaters helped us all.
