My name is Joeliegh, but if you’re curious about my username “valeadiary",it actually comes from my nickname Alea, which only my closest friends call me. I simply added “diary” since I want this space to be my daily journal where I share pieces of my life. Honestly, I’ve never been too fond of my real name because it sometimes sounds a bit masculine. That’s why I feel more comfortable and more myself when people call me Valea, it feels softer, more personal, and truly feminine, which reflects who I am best.

I’m now a 3rd-year entrepreneurship student, and life in college is definitely a mix of busy, stressful, and exciting. There are days when I feel so tired from schoolwork and deadlines, but there are also days when I feel grateful that I get to learn and slowly build my dreams. Being an entrepreneur student teaches me how to be practical, creative, and resourceful. It’s not always easy, but I know it’s helping me prepare for bigger things ahead.

If you ever catch me studying or working on something, you’ll probably notice that I always have coffee or matcha with me. ☕🍵 I honestly can’t choose between the two because I love both so much. Coffee is for when I need energy and focus, and matcha is for when I just want to relax and enjoy a calming moment. They’ve become my little comforts in life, especially during long nights of studying or early mornings when I need motivation.

I grew up in the north of Cebu, which I’ll always call home. Life there was simple, quiet, and meaningful. But not too long ago, I moved to the city because of college. The change was big, and it took me some time to adjust. Living away from home, handling responsibilities on my own was overwhelming at first. But I also see it as a blessing because it taught me independence and gave me the chance to grow.
**My Expectations Here on Hive**
Joining Hive now feels like another new step, just like moving to the city. I was nervous at first because I am not sure if I could do it right or if people would even notice what I write. But I’m really thankful to Miss @wittyzell, who has been so approachable and patient in guiding me. She explained things clearly, encouraged me, and made me feel welcome here. I honestly feel blessed to have her as my mentor. Without her, I might not even have had the courage to start.
What I hope to find here on Hive is to meet new friends, engage with others, and share a part of my life through writing. I want to write about little things, maybe even random thoughts, but with the hope that someone out there can relate to them. I also want to learn from others, read their stories, and see life from different perspectives.
Right now, I’m both nervous and excited hahaha. Nervous because this is something new for me, and I still have a lot to learn. But excited because I know Hive has so many opportunities for growth and connection. It feels good to finally take this step and put myself out there.
So here I am, and ready to start this journey on Hive. I’m happy to be here, I’m looking forward to making new connections, and I’m excited to see where this will take me. Thank you for welcoming me into this community, and I can’t wait to grow with all of you.
**Special Thanks!**
Big thanks again to Miss @wittyzell for being my guide and mentor. I wouldn’t be here without her encouragement. And to everyone reading this, I’m really glad you’re here, and I’m looking forward to meeting you, supporting you, and sharing stories together
